As you all know I was given the opportunity to do an internship in a vets office. Well I spoke with them on friday and after getting all the details and info from them I decided to not go forward with it.
The hours would be too hard to handle with having a family and the pay isn't what they said it would be(they promised $11/hr and it turned out it can be UP TO that but starting out at only $8/hr which is less then what I'm making now). I would have LOVED to work with the animals but I just don't think it's the right timing in my life right now. Maybe when my boys are a little bit older and they are in school full time I would be able to but it's not fair to them right now.. Moving on... I have been putting in applications and faxing them out like crazy. Today I got a call from one of the employers I sent my resume from. She wanted an interview IMMEDIATLY! I had applied for the recieptionist position but it had already been filled. She told me that she had another position in mind for me after seeing my resume. Even though I didn't know the pay/hours or position I agreed to interview with her.
I got there around 2:45, filled out the application and waited.. It seemed like FOREVER! Finally she came out, introduced herself and walked me back into a VERY posh office. She then explained to me the position. Loan processing for a student loan company that's been in business 18years! I was stoked!
No more phones, no more annoying customers! and it starts at $12.50/hr... I thought it was too good to be true. We ended the interview on her saying she needed to speak with so-n-so and and she wold call me around 4pm...Well 4pm came, no phone call so I waited thinking they were just in a meeting or another interview... at 4:30 I called and was told she went home for the day and would be back in on Wed.. My heart sunk...
About 20 mins later she called to say "welcome aboard!" Apparently she was in a meeting about hiring ME!I was so syked she had to repeat it and then told me it's not $12.50/hr but they are starting me at $12.75/hr!
I am SO excited!
