This is a pretty good one, but you can find others by Googling "pets+toxic+houseplants".
It is my own opinion that teaching/allowing pets not to eat any houseplants is the only 100% safe thing to do.

Wow... avocado? That's scary... I dropped a small piece of avacodo and one of my cats promptly ate it and then begged for more. Good thing I didn't give it to him!
My one houseplant is out of reach (good thing - it's a philedendron) but my 2 fosters go to their new home soon and I'm worried about all the plants they'll have access to in their new home.

I would think that the avocado caution (just like tomatoes and corn) refers to the plant itself and not the fully ripened fruit.
