I was just doing my daily go-over of the kittens, and one of the babies has a very oddly shaped ribcage. Most ribcages are narrow and are wider top to bottom, but this kitten's ribcage is wider side to side than it is top to bottom. I did a small web search, and now I've freaked myself out.

Anyone else ever had a kitten with these symptoms? They are only one week and one day old, but no ill effects have been oticed yet...

There is an excellent article about this right here on TCS, the link is:

I have had one kitten with this, and fortunately she did very well, though we waited until she was older than I normally would have to be spayed (I placed her as a pet with a good friend), and she went on to have a good life, though if she exerted herself, she get into some more rapid breathing.

Thank you!

I just get myself worked up about things I can't do anything about.
I'll try holding him on his side a few times a day and watching for other more severe symptoms. It's not severe enough to be visible (yet); it's only something I can feel right now. Hopefully it will stay mild.
