Jimmy is wondering why the smells in the kitchen are different. No grease cooking. He was watching me bake a potato just now........

Husband said he stayed int he bedroom today too [like he does with me] and watched him get ready for work. He stayed there nearly the entire time and right at the end shot out the kitty door. Jimmy is more relaxed with me than with hubby. I think it is because he has been around more women than with men. However, I have caught him sitting a few feet from Juan when he was sleeping before just watching him.

Nothing spectacular to report. Just slow regular things.....

Moving forward is moving forward.... regardless of the pace....

Oh lordy.......... I feel like a cookie monster........!!! Gotta keep moving

Hey Xo......here's a couple more pics of JJ I took today..... Juan thinks he is losing weight too.. He needs to get down to around 15-16 lbs. That is a good lean size for him... He is real skinny at 12-13 lbs. And it wouldn't hurt him to even be 17 lbs..... He is probably around 20 right now. And that is according to Juan...... I think maybe a few pounds more than 20.

He has charlie on the brain here. Charlie is very brave.

And here he is just kicking back relaxing with Mama and Felix..... See Charlie in this one too. I don't understand why he is so intent on smelling and being with the cats that want to scratch the fire out of him. Felix is worse about dogs than JJ..........nearly. But Felix is very dominate... The cats like him and so does JJ.

Felix look so much like Jimmy we do double takes all the time.... We know it's Felix if we can walk up to him........hehehehe

Elly, Felix is the one many months back that had the hurt foot that I was never able to doctor. Remember? You said he looked like Jimmy? Well, it took nearly 8-9 months to pet him and now he is a big baby most of the time. I don't know if Jimmy will ever be quite like this but I have high hopes for him......... Jimmy evidently came from a wilder bunch....

Awww, cute pics of your crew, Jenn!
Felix and Jimmy really do a lot alike (such handsome boys!)

If you'd met Jimmy's mom, you'd see what a wild bunch he came from!
He'll come around. Just look at the progress he's made all ready!

Here's you one more. He makes the rounds through tyhe house.... Juan put the laundry basket in the bedroom and JJ promply lay down in the warm pile of clothes........

Got Juan's storage shed together today as well. He built some shelves for it. We love it.... He did most of the putting together portion ...... It was heavy.. He is now organized..... [on our porch anyway]....

And we finally got that d**m piece of trash trailer knocked to the ground. Now we just have to burn the pile and haul the metal away... What a relief it is...... Why someone would push a trailer down in the woods with no way to get it out is beyond me....... We like natural.....

JJ is a big baby and LOVES WARM CLOTHES....!!!

And you know XO......I one day sat some cat food on the porch and forgot it. Something ate a small portion of it... Not sure what but I made "something" a bed..

I opened the door last night and "something" ran like heck to get out of my sight. Have no idea what it was. But a couple weeks ago, I made it a bed in an old wood burning stove on my porch...... I revamped it today because the chill factor has been less than zero.....

I wonder what is eating there and sleeping on my porch...... Not a possum, and not a skunk... Whatever it is moves as fast as lightning. And it is only one of something. It takes two days to eat one bowl of catfood......

I did have some old sheets in it but today I took everything out and carpeted the walls and the top and put that sheep stuff in it.... It was an old car seat cover but I don't need it.

I tarped it today for added warmth.....

And then tented the entrance and put a piece of board over the actual porch to block air flow.... I stuff stuff all around the tent to keep as little air movement as possible.

And put the food back...... so "something can eat"....

Husband and I have been watching but so far have been unable to see what is eating......

Thank you Gracie......... I'm pretty partial to big JJ..... And only time will tell what is nibbling at my doorstep.... I have never seen a single loose animal around here.... Not a dog and not cat ever. The only dog around here is one little one that is kept in the house way down the road. i don't think anone else has any cats. I have never even seen a raccoon....... I doubt a bobcat is sleeping on my porch..... So it will be a total surprise when I finally see what it is. I might have to hurry up and buy a motion activated camera...

The bed has been there for at least a month. I have seen leaves in it and dirt particles inside it from some animal. I don't smell anything any different and see no poop in my yard.. Yesterday, last night, was the first time I opened the door and something scrambled rapidly away.. it was too quick for me to even see anything. I heard it as I was opening the door and by the time the door was open, it was gone.

So I have no idea what it is... The food disappearing is the only evidence of something eating there... The ground is frozen so I can't find any tracks. It could also be any size small animal. The bed is about 27" deep by 18-19" wide and probably 2 1/2 feet high at least in the barrell... It's a large tall oval.

And since there is daily activity here during the daytime, food has never disappeared during the day. It is at night..... while we sleep or while we are at work. We work nights. So either it is a night critter or a critter just being safe..... I get home at around 9am and it is gone by then along with the food. Juan gets home at 1am since we are working different shifts and he has never indicated he has seen anything. He would tell me if he did.....

And I take something back. I did see a small possum once. Several months back at night. The dogs alerted me to it. But it was not on my porch and was no where near my house. It was behind their yard and even with all their barking, it just lumbered along at a slow pace ignoring them. But it could be a possum I guess. But I don't think a possum could run as rast as "something" did last night.... It's just hard to say without seeing it at least once.

You're very welcome, Jenn.

I wonder if maybe it's a fox that's sleeping on the porch?
I know they make their own dens, but maybe it's a young fox...or maybe he just thinks your porch is his den.

A fox eating on my porch would be so cool.......... I was telling hubby a few months back I would love a pet fox....... hehe

That would be soooooooo neato......... I have heard we have fox around here but I have never seen one.

When we moved here we invaded quite a few animals territory. The "fishing shack" had been empty for at least a year and had gone back to the wild and critters took over. At first we had deer in our backyard..... The last time we saw a deer was several months ago. I could never put deer food out because it would be inviting them to their death since we do have bobcats around here. I thought it might be a rabbit?? I don't know much about rabbits......do they do things like this???

We have coyotes too. I have seen them running across the road on my way to work.

I agree, it would be cool if a fox was sleeping on your porch.
I don't know if a rabbit would do that or not.

When I was a little girl there as a bobcat in our backyard, I just thought it was a big house cat and I wanted to go out and get it and bring it in the house.
That's when my Dad told me that it wasn't just a big house cat, that it was a bobcat and I had to leave it outside.
That bobcat was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Any way, I can't wait until you guys find out what's made a home on your porch!

If it turns out to be a bobcat, I would rather feed him and have him full than him be hungry and really think hard about my kitty babies......... But somehow or other, I just don't feel it is a bobcat. I have seen bobcat prints in the snow and have seen their eyes at night across the road, but I just don't think it is a bobcat.... It would eat more for one thing.... What ever it is, it is taking it two day to eat one butterdish full of food.

Look at this link. I have been readin g about foxes and these are the smallest foxes in the world.......... Cutest little things I ever saw....

i SAW IT, BUT STILL NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS.......

I took a pic and outlined it in red. Look close at the pic and then look at the tent pic above and you can pick out the shape. I took this through the door so as not to spook it. It is a cat of some sort. This is the back of the animal. It is brownish..... at least that's how it looked through the door. It has to be fairly large because it's rear is out of the tent while it is eating....

Wind chills are -5 tonight and it is snowing right now. Least the critter will have shelter... Hopefully the carpet and the sheep skin will keep it warm enough to not freeze.

I need to post one pic of my beautiful Star Kitty. She has come a long way too, but alas.........still doesn't like to be loved on.. Even after several years.

Star Kitty has such beautiful eyes.

That animal looks big.
Could it be a mountain lion?
