I am crying as I write this...I just found out tonight that my nephew (by marriage, my husband's nephew) died today.

He had been in the hospital for awhile now, and they could not figure out what was wrong with him....he was 20 years old, and had overcome so much in his life...he was born with luekemia (sp?) and even though his physical size was small for his age, he was doing well. he was so smart...and he was going on to a cooking school to be a chef.
He and I had talked alot about cheescake recipes..that was kind of his specialty.
At first they thought it was his appendix, so they removed that...then he went into a coma, and his lungs filled up with fluid...then he came out of the coma, and they thought it was his gal bladder....then they decided it was some disease he had gotten from mouse droppings in the warehouse where he worked....they really weren't sure at all.
But we thought he was doing better.....and then tonight my husband came home and told me he had died.

I am in shock. He was the sweetest, most caring, kind human being I think I have ever met...and smart as a whip.

The funeral is Friday. I have cried so hard over this..I am heartbroken...I just did not expect it...I thought he was getting better.

Please pray for his family....he left behind two brothers as well.

This is really sad, I am truly sorry the doctors weren't able to help your nephew. It's always so very difficult when such a young person dies. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband and the rest of the family.

Thank you all so much. I am a little calmer about this now...but my heart is still breaking. He was such a good kid, and had such a good sense of humor, and would never have hurt anyone. I know he is in heaven now....but it hurts to lose him.

I'm so sorry. To see such a promising life cut short is heartbreaking. Of course you are sad! But his suffering is over now. I hope they are able to make a diagnosis, I think there is a great deal of closure from knowing what happened.

Peace and hugs

Debby, my deepest sympathies.

When my mother passed away tragically (car accident) 2 years ago. I honestly thought I would not pull through. The pain was deep and from my point of view, it would never go away. My co-workers sent me this sympathy card which is posted on my cork board and each day, I read it and it does, in a sense, give some comfort. Hope it can provide some to you.

When someone dies, a cloud turns into
an angel, and flies up to tell God
to put another flower on a pillow.
A bird gives the message back to
the world, and sings a silent prayer
that makes the rain cry. People dis-
appear, but they never really go away.
The spirits up there put the sun to
bed, wake up the grass, and spin the
earth in dizzy circles. Sometimes you
can see them dancing in a cloud during
the day-time, when they're supposed
to be sleeping. They paint the rain-
bows and also the sunsets and make
waves splash and tug at the tide.
They toss shooting stars and listen to
wishes. And when they sing wind-
songs, they whisper to us, don't
miss me too much. The view is nice
and I'm doing just fine.

Debby - I am so sorry. It is such a tragedy for someone so young to pass too soon. He obviously touched your life, and I have no doubt he touched many other lives as well. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Ghyslaine, what a beautiful poem! Thank you!

And thank you to the rest of you for your kind words and prayers.

They are saying now, that he had developed a blood clot. I just don't understand how they could have so many different diagnosis on it, but I guess we will never know what really happened.

The funeral is friday, and it is a little ways away (2 hours or more)and we will be going. It will be a really hard day for everyone.

Thanks again! It means alot to me!

Debbie, This has to be a terrible time for you. God bless you and the whole family. I cannot imagine how his mother feels. She was probably so grateful he had overcome leukemia, and was looking forward to many more happy, productive years. Bless her heart, and I pray that God will comfort you all now. "In my house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you." "Be still, and know that I am God."

Please accept my condolences. I'm very sorry to learn your nephew has passed away. It's obvious you loved him very much; and that's something even his death cannot take away — that special bond between two souls, which surpasses all knowledge.
