Now that I got your attention...I have an 8 week old kitten and for the past two weeks he has woken me up about 6 or 7 times by sucking on my nipple. To say the least, it is a very uncomfterable situation. Does anyone have any insight on why he does this? I dont know how to get him to stop

It sounds like he was taken away too soon from his mother...ideally, kittens should not leave their mom until they are between 10-12 weeks of age. What you need to do is provide him with a stuffed animal that he can nurse on. I would recommend you buy him this:

It is a little young yes. Not horribly young, but kittens should be with the mom until 10-12 weeks of age. I think he considers you his mom and is just so comfortable and relaxed with you that he does that.

This is weird, Zissou used to do this to my roommate (who is a boy) and I never posted about it because I was afraid to. He never wears a shirt when he sleeps, because he claims his room is hot (mine is fine, I always have a comforter, he's just crazy) and when we first got Z she sort of "nursed" him too. She never did it to anything else, earlobes, neck, skin, fingers, herself, her tail, nothing. Just that, and only in the early morning. She was at least 10 weeks old, but I don't know what happened to her mommie cat. She did it for a couple weeks and then stopped.

Yea, really all you can do is wear a shirt, and I know it must be uncomfortable to wake up to that, but remember your kitty is just confused and hungry and to her that's where the food comes from (well, that is what they're for!) so gently move her when she does it, make sure she's fed, and wear a shirt.
