I will try to make this short. I work for a construction co. Last month one of the bosses asked me if I would work with him on his next job. I said yes. I am working on a jobsite now and am still needed. I did work for him whenever possible, my boss on this site did not want to let me go. A couple of weeks ago I approached the new boss and asked him if he had anything for me to do on the new project. He said "I have TEMPORARY HELP up at the office. I asked him right there straight to his face if he was throwing me off the job he said NO. Well I found out yesterday when going over my yearly review with this boss that I have been replaced on the other job
.
The new boss didn't have the nerve to tell me to my face
, he had someone else tell me! He told the person at HR that the girl replacing me had better phone skills and interpersonal skills than I do. We have had very little interaction other than "yes I can get that done" etc. Unless he didn't like that I asked him to his face if he was throwing me off the jobh. I don't want to approach him directly because he will probably complain to HR.
I am torn should I send an e-mail to the lady in HR or should I let sleeping dogs lies?
Can I please have some {{{{{Keep you job vibes}}}}} please.

That's a tough situation... I thought that a company has to tell you if your being kicked off a job, or there has to be some kind of documantation, like a write up for your "lack of phone skills" or something before they can just boot you out. I wonder if you can speak to the lady in HR, confidentially, and just ask her nicely, in a "I don't understand what went wrong and don't wanna do the same thing in the future" kind of way.... since you have never been reprimanded or written up about it, you really don't understand why you've been replaced and would like some sort of an explanation.... did someone complain about you? is it something that maybe you could explain to them, or clear up so that there is no misunderstanding in the future... I think if you do this in a nice way maybe she will help shed some light on the situation that you may not be aware of...
Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the advice and I am considering talking to her, I just want to regoup and compose myself before I ask. I also think alot has to do with office politics and clicks. I am not one of their drinking buddies (never been invited) so I'm sure that has something to do with it to,

Definately re-group etc.... I hate clicks.... that's so just not my style... not even in high school. But I'm sure if you ask for confidentiality with HR, they are legally not allowed to divulge all of your info... and if you really are genuinely asking in a concerned way, for your future, for the bettering of the company, I can't see why they would take it the wrong way, or why it would hurt you any. It will seem as if you care, and want to make things better. You can still secretly wish diarrhea on them all behind their backs.... I won't tell I promise!

Those cliques at work are just awful, they make everyone else feel like a crapbag. I'm sorry you're having a rough time at work. Good luck with it all

Good luck with approaching HR. That was weiner move of your boss. Sounds like you need to be "one of the guys" in that company.
