Will he get a "V" tattooed in his ear? (NeuterScooter tattoos the cats they do - including my Aristotle.)

Serously, Niece's hubby had his done about 10 years ago. As for nephew... Niece has offered to do him - with a rusty knife.

Movin' on up!
My stepfather had it done, before I was even born, as did my late husband (wish I'd have met him FIRST). Pops had his done on his lunch hour and went back to work (Marines are TOUGH).

Now that Baby #3 is on the way, my son is seriously considering it - after all, he's had two very good role models.

my husband had it done after our 3rd child was born they did it in the dr office and since we now the dr well he let me come in to waych lol i couldnt help but laugh a few times its funny to see a guy laying on the exam table like us women have to. it was pretty cool though. im not sure my hubby was happy to see watching the whole thing going cool does it hurt lol. but all in all he was sore a few days had to wear a cup to protect and then had to go back for 2 tests after to make sure no more fishies lol were swimming around. he would be the first to tell a guy that its not too bad.

When I was like ten my mom decided to tell me all about how my dad was gonna have one.. I didn't even want to think about it! My aunt's ex had one and apparently from what I overheard you should not "indulge" until you are fully healed.
Anyway, although he is whining it's admirable he is willing to do it and not leaving it to you.

I don't expect to have to do much pampering. If he's expecting it, I will remind him of his hernia surgery, he went in a 6am, released at noon, and was playing video games with the neighbor by 5pm. He's tough! I think it may be more of a psychological pain with this procedure.
Oh my hubby did that to the specimen but he did his in about 3 weekds
The Dr that did it was orential and he told my husband a few days later you must be " hustler "
It sounded so funny

Well, the appointment is this afternoon (at 2). We already have a prescription for a valium before the procedure. We have arranged for both of our girls to spend the night with grandparents (wouldn't you know, the one night that we will actually be by ourselves, we can't "enjoy" it) so that will make it a bit easier on him and on me--only one "baby" to take care of.

Well. we're getting ready to leave the house. My husband isn't really saying much, but he did take the Valium about 15 minutes ago. Wish him luck!

We're back and in 6 weeks my husband will be completely infertile!!!
He says it wasn't so bad, that the shot to numb the area were the worst part. For me, the worst part was walking into the procedure room and smelling the distinct aroma of burnt flesh (they cauterize the tubes to prevent regrowth).
The whole thing was over in 30 minutes.

We stopped by the video store to get some movies, since we have to take it easy for the next few days. Do you know how embarassing it is to accompany a man that is constantly shielding his package in public. I tried to stay away from him, but he kept talking to me and following me around.

It's over and I am so thrilled that he was willing to go thru with it and that everything went well!

We're almost 6 hours in and he is doing well. No whining or anything.
He isn't taking the valium, instead naproxen, he wants to drink beer!

I want my hubby to get it done, because we don't want children at all and I'm extremely sensitive to hormones and can't take the pill or use the patch or anything.

If he won't get it done, I will get my tubes tied, but I'm trying to sell him on the idea of the V being easier and less expensive. (He's a sucker for frugality.)

Congrats on your hubby going through with it. Pamper him a bit and I'm sure he'll be happy as a clam in no time.

How's he doing today? I remember my husband on the valium they gave him before the procedure. He took it on the way to the appointment and I could tell the second it kicked in. He went into slow motion and I just laughed at him when they handed him some papers to sign. His arm inched out slowly to take them, he turned ever so slowly, snail walked to a chair, sloooowly sat down and took about an hour to sign them.

He's doing great today. He actually hasn't taken any painkillers (even Tylenol) this morning and he says he isn't really in pain. He tossed and turned a bit last night, but I think the beer helped.
