ohmy!!! look at that!!
your so clever THANKS! That photo looks so much better with a blurred background. It didnt take that long then? and it would be quicker the more you did it. hmmm let me give that a go. Although I always have trouble doing the lasso tool.

There's another way to do it as well. You can take your lasso tool, and outline the subject then under Selection, you would select "Inverse", then do your Gaussian blur, it will blur everything that is not outlined. Maybe that would be easier for you than making a new layer. You might have to use the blur tool around the edged of the subject to smooth it in with the background, but I've done it, and it works really well.

Yeah thats what I do but it creates a line around it which is why I like to increase the size a little and put another layer over it

That's a good idea. I usually just smooth things out with the blur tool. I may experiment using your technique.

Hi,
When I made this sig. I used a bit of Roscoe's eye to make the background, But I couldn't match the colour very well for the text. Does anyone know if there is a way to put the colour from a bit of the picture on to the text?
I have Photoshop elements.

Well, I think you could take a copy of the eye, put it on it's own layer, smudge out or replace the pupil, and then put a mask of the text "Roscoe" over the eye. But unfortunately I use Illustrator, so I'm not sure how to mask in Photoshop...yet.

you should also be able to use the eyedropper tool to select different bits of color from his eyes until you get one you like, then use that color when you type his name. However, that will make his name one solid color, not the subtle blend of colors that kluchetta has.

I have regular Photoshop, but I've heard that Photoshop Elements has most of the same capabilities of Photoshop. I'd go for it, if I were you. It's a LOT cheaper than regular Photoshop. I've never seen Elements though.

Here's a signature for Sarahp of Genevieve. Is Genevieve a Manx cat? She is really lovely.

If that's the real price, I'd take it if I were you. I use that program, and so does Karen (Abbysmom). You're right, it's usually twice that.

The full version of Photoshop is like $600-$700. It can do a lot more than Elements, but the price is just out of reach for most.

This is what it is, It's from a place called Vio softwear, they seem to have a good reputation, price is $42.99, I don't know where I got the $43.01 plus free shipping

Maybe this is a downside it says OEM, says the only differance is that it doesnt come in a box, only licensed for 1 computer, not transferable, cant be used to upgrade, says it runs just the same as a full retail program, includes updates...includes product key codes

I use a program called PhotoSutdio that came with my scanner. I believe it is by ArcSoft. Seems to work pretty good. I've just learned by playing with it so far.

Is this going to matter on the photo shop elements
