I'm pretty definite there's some sort of invisible sign that says "Come to this house, these people will take care of you" posted on my door!!! Ugggg...today when my mom came home from the grocery store she told me to go look outside in the flower beds, sure enough, there was a kitty rollin around in the hosta lillies! It looked up at me, meowed and ran over to me trying to get my attention. So being the sucker I am, of course it's safe and sound with us right now.
I checked the kitty thoroughly outside, no signs of any med. issues or previous cat fights, clear eyes and nose, clean butt and fur. It's a male, i'd say he's between 4-6 months- he's underweight and tiny, but very energetic and sweet. I flea combed him- no fleas at all!!! and dewormed him, although i don't think he's wormy-it's just a safety thing. I kept him in a cage outside for a bit to evaluate him and get a feel for his temperment. He passed with flying colors, so i brought him in the house (caged and seperated from my kitties because he hasn't been tested yet.) He's a very very sweet little guy...i've named him Harley. Hehe, he's sitting on my lap at the moment helping me type. Haha, he's already spoiled rotten
My mom is having catarac surgery tomorrow (please keep her in your prayers, she isn't eligable for the laser surgery- her eyes are really really bad) so i'm not going to be able to take him to a no kill shelter till tues or wed, if there are any openings. If not, i'm not quite sure what i'm going to do yet....i'll probably keep him and foster him until i can get a good indoor-only home for him. Eithor way, i don't ever want this little guy back out on the street in harms way again. He's definitely a stray, not a feral....i'm almost definite one of my lousy neighbors a few blocks over from me dumped off their cats when they moved a few weeks ago....i had my suspecions, but now they're confirmed...(when i went to check there weren't any cats around at the time). Irresponsible owners and breeders really tick me off!!!! But at the very least, this little guy is safe tonight and in out of the rain with food in his belly. I'll add some picture up here of him soon...he's a little tiger-tabby...very very handsome! I think his new name suites him too...when he purrs it sounds like a motorcycle...so Harley was a perfect fit for him. I'll keep everyone posted. Well, i'm off to tend to my latest foster baby- i really should tatoo the word "Sucker" to my forehead lol

How lucky this kitty is to find some one as caring as you!
Perhaps the kitty will become a permanent addition to your household?

Good for you for rescuing him!!! I'm so glad he ran up to you instead of running away! Can't wait to see pics!

Yup..sounds like you have the sign at your house. But it truly is a good thing because these cats know they are safe with you.

Thankyou for such kind posts everyone. Harley has settled in quite nicely tonight...he's sleeping with his blankets and the little teddy bear i gave him lol. I wouldn't mind him being a permenant addition to my home, but at the same time...the more kitties i take in, the less i am able to foster and take care of. Also my mom is having a very risky surgery tomorrow....so we will have doc appts. to attend to for quite a while- and she will be unable to work for over a month. I'm currently working 2 jobs and i am putting myself through college...so i want to be able to devote my remaining time to the furbabies i already own...although one more wouldn't be bad
. Anymore than that would definitely be over my limit at this point and time. So whether i find a great indoor-only home for Harley-( which if anyone is intersted, please pm me or leave a post)....or if i am able to keep him myself, eithor way, i'm going to make sure this little guy has a great home. He deserves the best.

I'm posting some pictures of Harley below, please let me know if they're too big...i'm still figuring out how to post pics on TCS...i'm using Camedia and Photobucket.

Well he´s a cute one ! he looks so well. He must be a real happy boy now. Hope you find him a new home, or maybe he´s wondered off from somewhere else. Whatever happens, he´s sure gonna be loved and well looked after.

See...if everyone did what you did for this one cat..we probably wouldn't have a homeless cat problem.

Thankyou everyone for all of the lovely compliments. It's so wonderful to have the support of other cat site members! Harley is doing great today. I was a little worried today would be hectic with my mom's surgery and all, but everything went wonderfully. We just got back in and she's in bed for now. Harley is in his cage asleep at the moment. I'm about to get him out in a little while and hold him.lol, he's definitely a lap cat! i held him this morning for quite a while before i took my mom to the hospital, and he fell right to sleep. He's very loveable and very well socialized, so i just want to keep reinforcing that good behavior in him. He also seems to do quite well around my other kitties when he sees one ( he's seperated from them, but occassionally they'll pass by him ....he seems to like the company, but until he's tested and neutered, i'm not chancing anything. For now he is getting all of the love and attention he needs
. Once again, i live in Memphis, so if anyone in or around TN is interested in the little guy, please let me know. He's definitely a keeper! I'm going to take more pictures later. I'll keep everyone posted.

Thankyou for everyone who has kept up with the story of this amazing little guy. Just a little update, tomorrow Harley is going to be tested for feline leuk. and feline aids. If he is positive for aids he has to be euthanized. If he is positive for leukemia- i will try to rehome him to someone who has leukemia positive kitties only because my kitties are negative and i don't want them to get it. If he is negative for both, then i will arrange his appointment to be neutered and vaccinated. Wish Harley luck tomorrow- i'm crossing my fingers his tests come out negative.
After talking to the shelter i was planning on taking him to today, i've decided against it. I just found out that they've started to euthanize some of the kitties due to the mass feline overpopulation. I do not want this little guy to be euthanized since he is so adoptable, so i've taken out an add on petfinder.com for him and also, if anyone knows anyone who would love a little lap kitty, please contact me. You would be saving a life and giving a very wonderful kitty a great new forever home! He will have a small adoption fee to cover the overhead costs of housing, food, litter, medical testing, neutering ,and vaccination. Also, he must be indoors-only. He's been through such a rough start in his young life, i want to ensure that he never has to endure another day outside on his own again.

I would repost about him under SOS so that he gets more exposure.

We just had a very good report from the vet this morning. After testing Harley for FIV, and FeLv, he is negative on both

He has a mild case of earmites, but it's not a big deal, i got him the single round treatment of Milbemite, so that should clear things up very quickly. By the way, i highly recommend Milbermite for anyone who has a kitty with earmites! It works wonders, i use it on all my fosters that have them.
Harley as well as all of my other kitties got their Frontline Plus today...so everybody should be good to go! All i have to do now is set up Harley's appointment to get neutered and vaccinated, then he will be all ready to go up for adoption. He weighs 7 lbs and the vet said he i was right and he's about 5-6 months old. He still needs to put some weight on, he's very skinny, so we're working on geting him to a healthy weight. I'll keep everyone posted. Right now he's in his cage asleep ( he had a long morning lol
).
Thankyou for everyone who has kept up with the posts on this amazing little guy.
