You are so right Fran!!

But I do know that bikini season is such a pain!!, I'm not the same from the top to the bottom so the only way I can buy a bikini is seperates...it's the only way to go!

Yes they are, I truly believe that being the little feminist that I am, lol, BUT, if only everyone in the world would believe that I wouldn't feel like a beached whale in a swimsuit!

Oh, and I only wish I was a size 7, I very rarely fit that size. I seriously have a ghetto booty! But I suppose it does have it's charms, but I am seriously not liking the massive thighs that are holding that booty up!
I guess they have to be big to support the weight their holding!!! Lol.

Ya know, I just realized that we are all terrible! Lol. I mean, I have seen pictures of most of you and you are all so beautiful! Where did we get these negative self images? But on a different note, I am loving being able to purely rant all I want about my cottage cheese thighs! lol. Self destructive habits I tell ya!

I just bought new bikinis last week.

I think my legs are fat and cellulity, but you really have to accept your self, for who you are.
Are you going swimming for other people? No! go for you! Think about your self!
Why should other girls/women make you ashamed, we all have the same sort of stuffing anyway

and just think of those size 1 girls, do you honestly think they are beautiful for being small? They are probably jealous that you have more on your body and beautiful curves and natural boobs
I think You said it best out of everyone! This is the attitude I try to have.

I also noticed that it is us women who are the hardest on eachother and we're the one's freaking out about it LOL. Perhaps we should just cut eachother some slack. LOL.

Good luck with the swimsuit shopping. I have one, but I am a shorts and a t-shirt kinda gal.

Lands End catalog/website has really well made and good sized suits.
I just read an article stating that we should not expect to wear the same size suit but go up a size or two.
I have to get a larger top/smaller bottom as I am "apple" shaped" instead!!
As for Wyan-we can post pictures of our swimsuits I just won't be wearing mine!!!
BTW-with working outside I have the worst farmers tan (aka tan lines).
From the shorts to a tan line from wearing socks!!! Maybe people will notice my funny tan instead of me in a suit!!!

So to get a swim suit I have to get a size 14 to fit the top, then take the straps up and back (my mom sews it), and a 12 on the bottom. Oh, the other thing that's annoying, I know low rise looks hot on super models and 12 year olds, but anyone that has a child or has a pouch of a tummy can't wear those low rise swim suits! I need one to actually go up to my belly button, and that doesnt' mean I want the sides cut up ti kingdom come either!

Maybe I should design swim suits.... in a perfect world!
Ugh, you have the same problem as me!! Except I'm like a 10/12 on the bottom, but close enough. What really irks me is that most tops don't have enough *support*... like they are these teeny tiny triangle tops... no WAY do those hold me in safely!!
I have to hunt down halters, and half the time they are out of my size. Thank goodness for Target though!! I found this halter AND they had it in my size: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B000BRQ8N0

But yeah... bathing suit shopping = pain in the butt!

The women of TCS could beat them in a beauty contest any day in either category of looks or personality.

I don't think I look that bad, until I get to the beach and there are girls that are a size 1, then I feel like a beached whale!

And I feel for you as well (but wish I was a size 8....). I used to do triathlons and be pretty fit, but had to give them up a little over a year ago because of a heart condition (at age 25!), and am now on heart meds. Not allowed to get my heart rate over 120bpm, so lack of exercise combined with feeling slow from the meds, and moving countries and losing all of my exercise buddies has seen me put on about 8kg now and lose all muscle tone.

I put on my swimsuit the other day to go do some laps at the pool and realised I looked horrible in it now, and found an excuse not to go to the pool. Sigh!

Oh well, life could be worse I guess.

I love tankinis! I'm way too old and flabby for bikinis/two-piece bathing suits, but find the one-piece ones too inconvenient when you have to visit the ladies' room. Tankinis are perfect, especially since I can usually get "long" sizes on sale at Land's End every January (I'm extremely long-waisted, and have no "rear" to speak of). We just got back from a spa visit last week. Last year, nobody else "sported" a tankini, but this year I spotted two other women (one middle-aged, like me, and one in her late 20s/early 30s) wearing them, and had about 30 women ask me where I got mine. They're terrific.

I've recently lost 95 pounds, and this is making me fear bathing suite season even more. All of my friends are putting extra pressure on me to get the smallest bikini ever and wear it out on the beach. I don't feel remotely comfortable to be able to pull that off. I just want to get a black once piece and be done with it.
