My vet has given my cat Raven this medication after getting an upset stomach from Metacam - supposedly to help get her to eat. In Looking it up on the internet, it appears to be an antidepressent for humans - and I can't find information regarding cats.

Has anyone had experience with this medication and cats?

No experience with cats, but I gave my dog some Mirtazapine (Remeron) when he wouldn't eat. It is an antidepressant for humans, but the two major side effects are good sleep, and increased appetite.

In humans, it is well tolerated, with minimal side effects, except the sleep and appetite. It is often used in kids or the elderly for just that reason.

It helped my dog Logan quite a bit. And I had the dissolving tablets, which made it easy to give him! LOL!
