I had it when I was a teenager. Holy cow, I was such a nerd AND to have excessive sweat in the pits area!!!

I eventually grew out of it, but if I don't use the Dove deoderants I'll occassionally get the problem again.

Well I have to say its nice to know your not alone. After my children were born I noticed a major increase in the sweating in that area. Very weird and very embarrassing. My one friend told me once about a stone from a healthstore that she uses. I know sounds odd but this is not someone I see regularly or even talk to on the phone but I need to just to find out again what she was talking about.
I think for a female its a major thing to have increased sweating in the armpits........very embarrassing.
Plus it cuts down on what you can wear without feeling like everyone can see.

That's just wrong on so many levels!

I suppose I should mentiong I DON'T look like I've been out in the rain, just little spots that if I raise my arm, you'd see them. I try not to....makes it really hard to function in a normal setting sometimes...

I work in a clinic with a derm office and they do give injections of botox for excessive sweating and it does work. One injection is said to hold for 6 months. I've been debating talking to the Dr about it.

I heard about the Botox injection you can get under your arms to stop it. I can't wear certain shirts because you'll be able to see it. That's the only place, I don't have that problem all over or anything, but I hate worrying about it!

Okay, this is weird, but I bought something that sort of electrocutes your armpits to make you stop sweating. (I know, eek!) It works though! I've always been terrible at sweating-- I sweat when I'm cold, even! Lately its gotten better. Somehow the pill seemed to help it, but maybe just coincidence.
If you want to know more about the thing I have, pm me.
I've been thining about the botox though, but I think its too scary!

I'm going to butt into this one more time without teasing poor Shannon.
Women don't sweat, they glisten and glimmer with the essence of life.
Other than that, good luck trying an overnight applicated sweat blocking liquid. I've tried that for my hands before.

No teasing! I'm so self concious about it! I do glimmer with the essence of life though, but not like I'm talking about!

I know several people that swear by Certain Dri. I bought it to use before my wedding (I was so afraid of being sweaty and stinky!) but ended up not using it, so I can't tell you from personal experience.

I have heard of the botox injections on the radio. My right arm sweats more than my left but i'm like you, i have to limit my clothing...i cant wear the little sleeved shirts...so i wear alot of tanks. I also cant wear solid long sleeved shirts b/c the sweat will show through. A friend of mine has the same problem and she used a mineral stone. Worked for her, i just havent bought one yet. Do a search for them on the internet and you'll see what i'm talking about it...they are very affordable. Good luck.

my right armpit used to sweat excessively. I started using this stuff called certain dri, it's like prescription strength deodarant but you can get it at walmart or whereever. I have never sweat with that stuff, you only use it every other day or so.

now, i'm not recommending this, but...my mom had radiation for breast cancer, & now she doesn't sweat at all from her left armpit! she also no longer grows hair under that arm!

I learned about that during sorority rush in college (the stores sell out of it that time of year
). It works great! You put it on at night, shower the next morning as usual, and it works for 24 hours! It is FANTASTIC! Just don't apply it right after you've shaved under your arms- YOUCH!

Thanks for everyone's replies! I think I'll try this to start. I was waiting to see what the majority would say and 2 votes for this and I'll try it first. I hope I don't have a reaction to it and it works!

Ummmm....can you buy it in the stores? Where?

That was a big problem for me in High school. Not so bad now but if I am in a unfamiliar situation the sweat starts rolling!! I found Mitchum antipersparant works well. it seems to me that you are supposed to apply an night before you go to bed instead of after showering???
I was so emabarrassed yesterday as I was sweaty from digging-I get home look at my shirt and I have these two big sweat spots under my boobs!!! And I was working around guys too!!
Let us know what works for you.

I've found it in ShopKo, Kmart, Target, Wal Mart, Walgreens, etc. You can basically get it anywhere. Be careful, though. I used it & had a reaction to it. My little sister used it too often & her armpits got all red & itchy. Don't use it more often than the directions say. It works awesome, though.
