For those who don't know us yet, Jada is 65 days along today. She's been nesting for a week or so and seems ready to give birth anytime now. I'm concerned right now because she's been in the litter box several times in the last hour with diarriah! Is that normal or could something be wrong? It's not explosive, but just lose stool and she's going a lot.

I read that this can happen before mum cat is due to go into labour apparently. Is she eating/drinking water normally? As for health concerns, keep your vet's number handy if you are worried.

I just read yesterday that some cats get diarrhea before they go into labor. Sounds like she is getting very close. I can try to find the site again if you would like to read about it. Just let me know.

Oh gosh, thanks for your quick replies. I'm so concerned right now and would love to read anything you can send me about it. I mean, I believe you that it's probably normal but I'd love to read the info too.

Her food and water are in the bathroom with her and it doesn't looking like she's eating and I can't really tell if she's drinking. Everytime I peak in at her I just notice the foul smell and am cleaning the box. She's also laying on the tile floor rather than her box. That's normal for her though. I'll keep you updated!

the smell is odd but could be because she is closed up. She might have her vulva leaking. That is a good thing.

Yes, I think the smell is just because of she's closed in the small bathroom of the house. I'm just surprised everytime I open it to find (or smell) that she's gone poo again.

winter had that before she gave birth to her first litter and the smell was horrible. I took her to the vet for it and was told as long as she was not getting dehydrated not to worry as there is very little they can do while they are pregnant. sounds to me like you will be having babies very soon. keep us updated.

I'm not noticing any dishcharge form the vulva. Only a red sore looking bum from the diarrhea. I just checked on her again and she is now in her nesting box, purring and looking relaxed. I'm probably going to try to relax myself in front of a movie and continue to check on her every hour or so until I go to bed. I will update again if anything happens. I'd still really love to read any articles anyone might have about diarrhea during pregnancy. Thanks!

I am having trouble with my internet service right now. As soon as it gets straightened out I will try to find that site again. Yesterday I went in where my cat is staying and when I got real close to her I noticed a little smell. She doesnt have diarrhea though. I have never noticed this smell she had. A little bit ago I was looking her over and I noticed she is getting pretty red on her little private and there was also what looked like a spot of dried blood. I showed my husband and he thought it looked like dried blood too. So hopefully she is also getting close. Give me a couple minutes and I will try to get that site for you.

It's ok. She's calmed down now with the pooing. She's just hanging out in her box. I'm going to bed now too. Hopefully I'll be posting new baby pics in the morning! Thanks for looking though!

Good morning! No babies last night but this morning Jada is meowing continuously in the bathroom and it woke me up. I checked on her and she is oozing this mucous looking stuff from her vulva area. Is this the normal discharge before birth? Is it suppose to look like......... well.........snot? Are we about to have kittens?
She's very nervous and actually seems to be calling for me as we speak so I'm going to get sit with her.
