after school today about maybe getting another cat. We decided that we would just wait and if one came along and adopted us that would be fine.. ijust about an hour ago I was looking through the paper and fond this ity bity add a lady is trying to find a home from her grandmothers cat. the grandmother is going to a nursing home and the lady and her family are allergic to cats so she can't keep him. he is about 8 years old,
declawed
and fixed. i started to throw away the paper after i read it but I kept thinking about that poor baby and wondering what will happen to him if she doesn't find a home for him. its eating at me. so my delima is should I call her and offer to take the cat or not. its really bothering me. so im turning to the one place where i know i can get good advice and support one way or another.

Awwww go on and bring him home

I've decided now that if i ever get another i'll get an older cat because their the ones that really need a stable home, because everyone gets kittens.

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Susan is right, the older ones are the ones in need. I always wanted kittens but I know I could love any cat just the same no matter how old he is.
I think you should bring this cat into your home. You said you'd wait and see if one adopted you, maybe you should at least call and enquire...put your mind at rest. He might even have a home already but then at least you can put it to bed.

he just wasn't the one for you. i called over christmas about a male ginger cat - but found he already had a home. if i had gotten him, i wouldn't have gotten my new mushpot, Chip - the right one will be along soon!

Just remember...the advice you find here is from crazy catladies and catguys! We ALWAYS think you should get one more!!!

I'm glad he found a home. Someone who needs you will be along soon.

Hey! How far from southern Minnesota is Spicer?? It's only a 3 hour drive! I can think of quite a few cats that really need you here!

Yes I'm glad to hear he got a home. the older ones are always the most difficult to adopt..yet they're litter trained and calmer.
We almost adopted a 5 year old over christmas (I still can't get over how pretty the eyes were, they were like what you see as the color of the caribbean sea!).
But at least you know and won't regret not finding out!

funniest thing happened!!!! i was out looking for a job and got lost lol (im still learning my way around) and pulled into a parking lot of what looked like a storage building next to some train tracks i saw cars so i went in to get directions and it was the humane society!!!!i just started laughing when i got around to the door and saw the sign. i went in and of course asked to see the cats! the first one that came up to me was this huge mine coon named georde hes beautiful!! and sooo sweet. i asked about him and he is up for adoption so i filled out an application i should know within a couple of days he is they think about 2 or 3 (been declawed) neutered and they said he gets along with everyone cats and dogs. they told me he had been there for several months and no one had even looked at him!!!!!! I asked if i could take his picture cause i wanted to show my friends (TCS!) and they said YES! of course you can! so here he is in all his glory keep your fingers crossed and pray!

GEORGE!
