It's pretty easy to tell the sex when you make them pee. Girls' pee comes out their rear ends while boys' pee comes out more on their lower abdomens. It's hard to explain but when you see the difference it's pretty easy to tell. It's actually easier to sex very young kittens since they have so little fur and barely any fat to get in the way.

Good for your sister for taking care of them! She actually can ease off on the middle-of-the-night feedings once they are about 5-6 days old as long as they are eating well during the day. I let my kittens go for 6 hours between feedings at night once they're past 5 days old as long as they are healthy. But I do feed every 2-3 hours during the day, or pretty much whenever they demand it.

Oh, the poor tiny baby! Your sister is a good person to try to help this kitten! Bless his little heart, I hope he grows big and strong with her loving care!

Quick question - what color is the kitten. Some colors are more prone to be male or female - like calico for female. There is a high percentage of red tabby males too. If any other color then its a toss up on the sex.

he looks like this I believe that these pictures were taken when he was 4 and 5 days old.

Oh and If I hadn't said so already his name is Chance. He is probably going to be a tabby boy.

we took him to the vets again today and they said that he was doing very well and that his heart and lungs sounded good. Well he also said that only one third of orphaned kittens survive. Well I think that he will be part of that one third.
