Well done! I look forward to seeing more pix on your moving day! I am still waiting on my offer, it has been a week now and the estate agent just stalls me. I am afraid she is showing it to others to try and get a better offer without telling me, though she said at first the owners were waiting to see if their bid on a new place was accepted.

Congrats on having the offer signed!
I love looking at all the real estate.

We purchased a 100 year old house 2 years ago which we are currently renovating. it will probably be at least another 2 years before we are finished because of all the projects. We will also be renovating our kitchen this summer. I bet my kitchen looks worse than your kitchen!
You're so lucky to be able to renovate it before moving in.

Nakita has become a renovation cat and doesn't even flinch when we tear down a wall or use a power tool. It's all in a day's work for her.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Amy, congrats, congrats, congrats!!!!!!! This is VERY exciting! With the issues you've had, I'm so pleased that everything went so quickly!

I've got my fingers crossed that the kitchen renovation goes quickly and smoothly and that you get just exactly what you want!

How frustrating! I was on total pins and needles and it only took a few days to work thru the deal. Let us know how it goes!

My current house is 100 years old and we lived with that kitchen for about 5 years before we started to do anything with it. Fortunately it was a large kitchen, so we dealt with it. My bet is that the cabinets were from the 1940's, the flooring and countertops from the mid 1960's. I know exactly what you have! The new house kitchen probably has the same cabinet space, but the floor space in the middle is a lot smaller. Both are "U" shaped but my current is square where the new one is long and skinny. Makes the "2 butt pass" difficult when you are sharing the cookspace with the hubby.

When we remodeled the bathroom last year, we had to cut a large hole in the floor to reroute all the plumbing. We lost 5 cats in one day thru that hole when the workmen left and didn't close the door behind them. My husband was home but didn't notice. Koko was wandering the back yard as a huge puff ball. Sage and Dakota hopped up onto outside windows, hung from the screens and screamed at us to let them back inside. Spanky and Pinky just started strutting their stuff all over the yard and after that excursion, wanted back outside and were mad when I didn't let them.

Congrats on the new house. Our house was built in 1977 and we have remodeled it entirely (and numerous more paint job!!)
We were blessed with a master bath that had a nice limey green tub, shower stall and toilet!!!
Just a tip when we redid the kitchen we sold the original cabinets. They sold fast. We sold our garage doors too. Place putting stuff out on the road-its just magically disappears!!
Have fun...

Congratulations, Amy! It sounds like a lot of work ahead for you, but it'll be fun planning everything, I bet.

I packed 6 boxes yesterday and already the cats are beginning to figure out that something is up. Some of them are simply being helpful and jumping into the boxes as I pack to make sure that things are in order inside that box. Others are standing to the side giving me that look of confusion.

None of my current crew have ever really lived at another house (except for a few when young in a foster home). I'm about to rock their little worlds.

First things to move: cat trees and their beds. Second things to move: cats. It's gonna be an interesting couple of months ahead of us.

Did I say that the house has a central vac? Never had one of those before and we were kind of hoping that the hairballs would simply suck up and blast directly outside. Could be a great thing with the amount of hair that we have floating around.
