I have some great new pictures that will be posted soon. Wait until you see these close up pictures of a very beautiful wildcat that lives in Africa (not mine
) Yes, lots of Amber pictures too
Of course, I am on vacation, so I may not be around much to upload pictures, you know, slow dial up here, but there will be a lot to keep everyone busy for a while looking at them

The site still needs some work, but it should be really nice once it is complete. I have a bunch of pictures that I will be bringing to her, so they can be uploaded to the site

When you go on vacation who looks after the big cats? Hope your vacation goes great, I love the pictures!

Well, when I say vacation, it's really just a vacation from my job. As for me going away on vacation, I don't do that any more, I have to be there for the cats. I can go away overnight, but that's about it, unless I can get a big cat sitter

I hope they will have the pictures uploaded to the site soon. I do have a lot of new pictures to post here too, but I never seem to have the time to do it with my slow dial up. I'll try soon though, I promise

If I could do it at work, I would. Have great high speed here. I will be on vacation again in 4 days. So, I should be able to post more, but I am going to be a little busy. On the 27th, we are having a big event at the sanctuary called, Howl at the moon. There will be food vendors, a live band, a haunted house (in the old house on the property that was built in the early 1800's), other fun activities and of course, tours of the big cats!! I will be one of the people giving tours, so this should be a fun day!! I will get pictures too
I am also going to do some work on Nakoma's enclosure. Going to repair one of his platorms and add another one too.

I just wanted to post something that I wrote when asked if cougars make "good pets". This doesn't just go for cougars, but IMO, all exotic cats

We need to examine what some people mean by "good pets". If you are looking for the typical lap kitty or an animal that is great with kids, it is obvious that a cougar is not a good pet for you. A cougar is not a good pet to keep in your house, that is, unless you don't care that for the most part, the cougar will destroy many items in your home, including your furniture, bed etc. A cougar is not an animal that you take for walks down the street on a leash or for a ride in your car. A cougar is not a cat that can me left home alone for the weekend, while you go away to play. A cougar is not an animal that is going to obey your every command. They are not, what many people "expect' of an animal, to be a good pet. However, for people who have a strong bond with these cats and are willing and able to care for them, they are a great pet. For me, a cougar IS a great pet, not just a good pet. I have total respect for what they are and don't expect anything from them. They don't owe me anything, but I owe them the very best in care that I can give. I also admire them for letting me into their world and for accepting me as one with them. They are not the vicious blood thirsty killers that many so called "experts" say they are. People are the vicious blood thirsty killers of the world. For every cougar I have met, including mine, I have found a love that is undescribable. My cougar always greets me with head butts, loud chirps and endless purrs. I know when I hold him in my arms, that he is in fact, a cougar. A cat that is oh so powerful, but yet so full of love, for the responsible person willing and able to give everything it takes, to share their lives with these great, magnificent, beautiful cats

in that case move a little more west lol. however if i get the job i did a interview for i will be moving to east side of cleveland.

good post about having a large cat. I would love to have one also. But i know i am unable to care for one the way they should be kept. Which is why i dont have one. I have a friend that is a vet for Zoo. i have got to see some large cats up close and personal.they are not lap cats for sure(lol however the one tiger did not seem to know that)

Hehe... well, cats are always trying to fit themselves into tiny spaces. I guess this tiger figured your lap qualified as a tiny space. :p

I couldn't own big cats--I don't have the time and property it takes to take care of them. But I'd really love to meet one. (Well, one that didn't think I was a deer, anyway.)
