Interview? WOOHOO!!

Okay, I know it's not going to be some 50K a year cushy job, but I just got a call for an interview at Petco. She was very laid back and told me she'd be there all afternoon, so to just come by anytime this afternoon, no huge deal. I figure about 1pm would be good.

This means that if I get in with them (or any otehrs Iv'e applied for) and being nationwide, I can eventually transfer to Oregon...

This is a step in the right direction.

Thanks everyone. i need this, no matter what. Even if they won't transfer me come August, it'll be money in my pocket (i swear I won't blow my paychecks on cat toys... well, I'll try not to) to assist in the moving process and day to day money issues here. I've been out of work (while also trying to be my own boss... unsuccessfully) for a year and a half.

I only did the online application earlier this week... so taking less than a week to call me in is a VERY GOOD THING!

Okay... I should go hug the kitties and take a shower... I might have a fighting chance at this one.

it went very well. They're opening a new store closer to me next month, and she needs people up at the Halsted store as well as the new place. She said I have a great personality for a Team Leader position. It's 10-11 an hour, but that's better than nothing!!!!

I have to wait for the background check... but i'm not some felon or escaped convict or anything... so it should be fine. She figures I'd be good in the new store... yeehaawww!! it's not mine yet, but this is the best chance so far.

That sounds great! I'm often at the Petco on Halsted...it's the one at the Clark/Halsted/Barry intersection, right?

Yeah... the Halsted one just south of Belmont. Clark and Halsted intersect. If i get the job, then I'll be there for a few weeks, then move down to the new store. That will be on N. Orleans. I'm not sure where, but I may go up there and walk around until i find it.

I just glanced online to locate the street, since it's not one I use regularly... I knew it was close to downtown. She told me it's close to the river, so it looks like it'll be close to the Loop. N. Orleans runs N/S and ends just north of the bridge over into the Loop. Since the river heads N/W, i think it's at the sourthern end of the street. She couldn't remember the intersection... but the sign is up already, so it should be easy to find. It's about time they got closer to the South Loop. This one I should be able to walk to. Whether i get the job or not. She has more than one job opening. A few for the new store and then one or two at the Halsted store. but she's thinking of me for the new one. That makes me happy.

I'll keep everyone informed of the opening. We'll do a 'soft open' once its stocked. I'll let you know of when that happens. It'll be sometime in February.

of course, that's if I get a job with them. Keep your fingers crossed. Here I am talking like I"m already employed...
