My dad is taking our cocker spaniel to be put down tomorrow or thursday.
she is really old and has lost all bladder control and cant see or hear and has convulsions.
she needs to be put down because she has a poor quality of life now. she is always hacking because she cant breathe well. i am so sad. i have to go see her before she goes.

Oh that is so terrible. Sounds like the right thing to do....I know that doesn't make it any easier though.

That is such a tough thing to go through, it's always so sad, that can't be helped. But she is really having a lot of trouble just living, she needs to get out of all the misery & pain she is in. I'm so sorry for your doggy.

We had to put down our old dog Logan. He had gotten older and sicker for the last 2 years, and finally when you would pet him he would cry. Just a gentle pat hurt. It was time.

It is painful to make that decision for an animal, but sometimes necessary. I'm sorry it is your pets time to go. When she gets over the Rainbow Bridge, she should look for Logan. He is a big black rottweiler mix dog. He will show her the sunny spots to rest.

May your heart find peace at this difficult time!

Logan will remind her of her brother bailey who is a big Rottweiler mix. I knw she will be happier over ther but it is still hard to let her go. she was adopted from the humane society after some one decided that after 7 years they just had no affection for her. She has had a really good life with us

I am soo sorry you have to make this awful decision for Susie
but I am glad she will be free from pain. She found great love with you and your family, and it will stay with her forever. Rest easy Susie, you are loved.

I am so sorry you have to put her down

We had to put down our toy poodle-Callie-my senior year - we had her for 15 years
- she was blind and deaf- and her life quality was not good either. Its always so hard to watch them having to live like that tho too, especially having them be part of your family for so long.

Now Callie and Susie they both can play together on the Rainbow Bridge

Lots of hugs going out to you!!

I'm really sorry. We may be going through the same thing soon. Our family dog is in a similar position. She's still happy though, even though she's blind, deaf, has arthritis, epileptic, and possibly has alzheimers. We made a family decision that if she gets so that she can't eat, is in pain other than the little arthritis, or stops wagging her tail, then it is time.

You're doing the right thing for her. I hope she knows how much she's loved.

I'm very sorry for your great loss. It really is losing a member of the family, and it hurts so badly no matter how much we know it is the right decision.

Out of great respect for dear Susie, I'll move this to Crossing the Bridge. She will have lots of new friends to meet her here...

Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m so sorry about Susie. Sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s no longer suffering, though, and will be waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge. May memories of her comfort you.

R.I.P. Susie.
