What I have read on them is that they are a different breed to ragdolls. The breeders have a little different standard then a ragdoll. Size and personality sounds the same as a ragdoll. I was on a ragdoll forum that people also bred ragamuffins and they were beautiful. They also have color points like ragdolls.

Here is a website of one of the members of that forum

I think we may frequent the same forum.
Folgerfuzz kittens are adorable, and extremely gorgeous as adults. I know from her pictures.

Ragamuffins can be just about any color including the pointeds, I believe. The Ragdoll and Ragamuffin standard was almost exact, but the Ragamuffins have been working toward their own standard to gain championship status in cat fancy organizations. I am not positive, but that may have been achieved in one of the cat fancy organizations as of now.
The Ragamuffin breed did originate from the Ragdoll, and IRCA (International Ragdoll Cat Association) cats.
Hope that helps.

My little girl Merlot was found on a farm so I know I cannot say anything about a breed other then DMH but she fits every single description of a Ragamuffin that I have ever read, plus she looks like one with her soft, silky milky white coat with dilute calico markings and little pink nose. She is beautiful and she goes completely limp in your arms and likes to flop over on the bed. She is a huge cat but seems delicate at the same time. She coos when you look at her right before she flops over. She is so different then any other cat I have ever had. I will attempt to include a picture but it never works when I do.

The RagaMuffin Did Not Originate from the Ragdoll Breed It did originate from a combination of all the IRCA Breeds. You can also visit these Boards http://p207.ezboard.com/bragamuffins...insragamuffins and http://p097.ezboard.com/bminkragdoll...ffinimitations

I have 2 RagaMuffins... Roscoe & Jazzpurr. Ragdolls & RagaMuffins both originated from a cat named Josephine, but they are different breeds. If you're interested there is more info here... RAG

Hi Cagnes!

The RagaMuffins are not traceable to Josephine. They are only traceable to those individual IRCA cats that we foundation registered in ACFA back in 1994.All the IRCA cats were of different heritages. The IRCA cats included Persians,Honeybears,IRCA Ragdolls, IRCA Miracle Ragdolls,IRCA Ragdoll Tu's,IRCA Little Americans and so on and so forth! They even included strays that Ann Baker picked up at her local Chinese TakeOut place! LOL. We've learned all of this through her IRCA pedigree records that are currently in our possession and thru individual conversation with her.

The only thing that stil currently and continually ties the RagaMuffin Breed and Ragdoll Breed together is the fact that many of the cats originally came from Ann Baker or the IRCA Property. The Ragdoll Breeders who originally broke away from Ann Baker registered only 4 colorpointed varieties of her cats very early on.Those are the only ones Denny Dayton registered throughout the Cat Fancy and should be traceable back to Josephine. You also have the newer Lynxpoint and Redpoint Ragdolls. These are traceable back to outcrosses which were then bred to the ancestors of those cats originally registered by Denny Dayton.

You do have "Solid Ragdolls" that were allowed Foundation Registration Status to allow their colorpointed offspring Ragdoll registration priviledges. Those Solids were only allowed in to broaden the existing Colorpointed Ragdoll genepool.Solid Ragdolls do not match the Ragdoll Breed Standards which clearly and emphatically state "The Ragdoll is a Colorpointed Breed and all Ragdolls must have blue eyes".Those solids all eminated from Ex-IRCA Breeders who do still say and still claim full traceability to Josephine."Paper" I do have to say is as good as it's Author and Ann Baker wasn't it! LOL.

You also have Mink Ragdolls that are traceable to RagaMuffins (Mine) that were reregistered as Ragdolls by and in the United Cat Federation and then their Prodgeny were individualy transferred into TICA and given individual TICA SBT Ragdoll Breed Status. It does seem with these acts that someone else wanted to claim my efforts as their own.The United Cat Federation was denied all future reciprocity with all legitimate Cat Associations as a result.I am in the final stages of having my individual cats corrected in the TICA database to reflect my work and Ownership of those cats which were falsely identified and recorded as Ragdolls and are of RagaMuffin heritage.Once it's completed all future Certified Pedigrees will indicate a Breed status of AON, then BON and then CON until those outcrosses reach SBT Ragdoll Breed Status by honestly and actually breeding them from and as Outcrosses. It's been a Ten Year process for me and I am very glad it's almost completed.I was able to tie the falsification to the introduction of the Sepia gene from my cats into those Ragdolls. It also helped that my Cattery Name is all over those Pedigrees.

The RagaMuffin Foundation Breeders decided it was best after viewing Ann Baker's IRCA records and truly confirming those records as untraceable to start from scratch. There were 4 year gaps and many colors that came out of nowhere. We decided it was best to take our knocks throughout the Cat Fancy and go forth with what we had.I'm very glad you have Jazzpurr and Roscoe. It is a quite a Statement to all the Foundation RagaMuffin Breeders and their hard work that Pet Owners are fully aware of the differences and are very happy with the cats that are in their Ownership.
Judges have been very critical but even there the cats and our Breed seems to be doing very, very well.Enjoy your RagaMuffins. It's what we as Breeders strive for!

Thanks Curt... yes it is true that we learn something new everyday!
I've read about the Cherubims, Honeybears, IRCA Ragdolls, Baby Dolls, etc... but I always thought that they were all derived from Josephine. I would think that some of the RagaMuffin linage must go back to Josephine even though it's not accurately traceable? Regardless of the origin, they are a wonderful breed & I love them!

I've also heard about your RagaMuffins being registered as Ragdolls & I can understand your frustration.

I do love both Ragdolls & RagaMuffins, I have 2 each & I hope to continually see each breed flourish!
