So, Cassie has been exclusively in the house for a week now. She still likes the porch and I've started leaving the basement door open so that she has more room to explore.
Sophie and Cassie are still separated by the kitchen door, although they have often been caught sniffing at one another in the crack at the bottom.
Tonight, I thought, let's see what happens. I cracked the door, watched as Cassie crept into the kitchen, and eyed Sophie as she saw this interloper in her territory.
I sat on the floor as they approached each other, tails flicking. No growling or hissing. Sophie laid down in front of Cassie, about a foot away. No puffing out, nothing threatening at all. They got about three inches away from each other's noses at one point. Suddenly, it seemed Cassie had enough of the introductions. She swatted in Sophie's general direction, missing her. That was it. Sophie got up and chased Cassie back out onto the porch.
All in all, I don't think it went too badly. Am I right?
