Last night after I got the kids to bed, I opened the door to call Tiger in for the night. Well, Tiger came inside and before I could close the door, Lily went bolting out. Of course, Tiger went out right after her. I stood on the porch in my PJ's calling them and nothing. So I went in, put on my shoes, (what an attractive look. Bugs Bunny pajama's and nikes
) I took thier food bowl outside and was shakin it and calling them. I seen one of my neighbors outside and asked if he seen them, he said he hadnt. Well after about an hour, they went running by me at about 100 miles an hour and I couldnt catch her. By this time, I was cold, tired and very frustrated and then my neighbor said they were under his car. So I walked over and tried to catch her. YEAH RIGHT
, she's too fast for me. I just about gave up and was going to come inside to wake my husband for help when my neighbor walked over about 20 mins later, with Lily curled up in his shirt and said "Here's your baby". I thanked him over and over, almost in tears and took her. He looks at me and says "A can of tuna works everytime"

Now I gotta watch her when we open the doors cuz she will bolt outside. She's only 13 weeks old and it's been rather cool outside, but she just wants to run her little legs off with her big brother Tiger

My Lily is only 13 weeks, too. We live in the country, so if she gets outside it could be really dangerous. I have her wear a collar all of the time just in case. She doesn't have any tags yet, but I am working on that.

I'm glad you got her back safe & sound!

Isn't that the most horrible feeling in the world. My Lucky is indoor only (and has zero street smarts or survival skills) and she bolted out the door, jumped on the railing of the deck, onto the roof of the porch and was off. I was freaking out. I finally managed to follow her bell and find her several doors down and coax her out for some cheese.

I don't think my heart slowed down for hours afterwards!

Scooter tries to bolt, too. Whenever he makes it out, we run laps in the bushes around the house until he either makes a wrong move and I manage to catch him, or he gets tired of exercising meowmy and goes to the door to go in. My neighbors think I am a lunatic. I chased the wrong cat one night. I chased a red tabby a couple laps around the house, then I looked up, and Scooter was watching me from the window. I am not sure where the one I was chasing went.

I can just imagine what Scooter was thinking.

I sure did laugh (at your expense) just trying to invision the cool get up you were wearing while canvasing your neighborhood....and then the look on your face when you were told about the "Tuna working everytime"....it was one of those "well, why did`nt I think of that" looks, was`nt it?
It`s sort of hard to think rationally when you`re worried, is`nt it?
Thanks for sharing your little story of Little Lily`s Big Adventure. (And yours!)

Oh I have done the laps with Tiger when it was raining! But I have to say I feel the goofiest when I will open the door to call Tiger (and do this every 20 mins for about an hour and half because I can't sleep if he's not in) just to have him come stretching out from under my bed, with sleepy eyes and this look of "What!? Im right HERE!" ..... not knowing my husband or one of my son's let him in

I think Hissy gave the tip of putting a vacuum cleaner by the door which has been turned on but unplugged. Then when kitty goes by the door, you plug in the vaccuum from across the room, and kitty scoots away from the door!

It would be hard to do with one in and out cat and one inside only cat, though. Luckily, all mine that are in stay in. And the outside cats don't really try to come in.

Like Linda (Stampit), I got a good chuckle from your post! I am glad Lily is home safe, now.

Yeah Limerick thinks he wants to go outside. Somehow he seems to forget that it's 20* out there. He always walks away from the door when he feels that cold air come rushing in.
