You poor thing, you! My brother did that to his ankle - it was years ago and he was playing soccer. He went for the ball same time as another guy - Matt got the ball, and the other guy got him. Broke his ankle in three places. He walked around on it for the rest of the day until he could walk no longer, and it turned out that he had fractured his tibia AND fibula, one of them in two places. Then they set his ankle crookedly, which caused a fluid build-up around the breaks, which then got infected. He ended up in a wheelchair with his leg elevated for a month, and was hospitalised for two weeks. Nasty, nasty, nasty.

Of course, one is hoping that this doesn't happen to you!!!

GOOD LUCK GET WELL SOON!!

PS - the constant changing of where you live is a great source of delight to me.... www .inasplint.owwie ...
Crap! That's the kind of nightmare I'm envisioning. I'm hoping that it isn't setting improperly in my splint.

Well the color you picked is worse! I'm sure the yellow they may have would be bright enough. Yellow is another no no color for me.

That's better than a pukey color.

RYAN!!! You're such a tease! You have to quit disappointing me with these threads. Sorry to hear about your ankle though, that truly is a bummer. Quick healing vibes headed your way. But, since you're such a tease I'm voting that you have to wear a PINK cast...and I hope it's a nice bright fuschia shade of pink!

It could be "dusty rose" instead of pink or "lemon" instead of yellow!!!
You only said it could start with a "P".
Think of all the sympathy you can get from women now when they see you!!

Of course, I had to vote pink. You made me.

Anyway, pal..Sorry to hear about your foot! Only in this city can you break a freaking bone walking down the street!! I hate that its winter now almost overnight and all of us have to do that funny Winterpeg walk down the street. You know. The tensed up back hunched over tip toe walk. Or maybe just girls do that.
Maybe that's why you fell. You weren't walking like a girl. That's it!

Also, my DD sprained her ankle a couple weeks ago and we had the pleasure of sitting in the Misery for 6 hours (6 HOURS!!!!!!!) to see a doc. How long did you have to wait?

Get better soon buddy!! Want me to bring you some good books to read???

This reminded me of something. I would advise you not to watch the movie Misery. Might be too painful.

Learn something new everyday. I now have another little tidbit of information that has no meaning unless I come visit you.

What the heck was I thinking when I added that poll? I knew what the outcoming trend would be!
When I went to bed it was a three way tie and not enough people had voted. I couldn't check this morning, so I was just going to go with blue or green, but I have stupid news. When I went to the Pan-Am clinic, (Cindy you know where that is) the doctor there pressed my ankle bone and it still hurt. He wanted another doctor's opinion, so I wated another hour. Then that doctor told me I would need steel plate surgery to ensure that it would heal properly. I could have gone with a cast, but I don't want to take chances, so I decided on surgery. I go in this Friday.

Tomorrow I have to go in to my doctor for a pre-op physical exam, since I've never had surgery in my life. It's going to take around 6 weeks now and 6 months for a full recovery. As I left, I began to feel mad because the very day before the break I had started priming for my winter workout plan with a semi heavy upper body work out and 14 miles of cardio on my stationary bike, but "crutching it" out the front door I saw a teen girl with a fluorescent pink cast on her forearm and it kind of made me cringe and laugh inside at the same time. So, Diane... they may very well have chartreuse.
Cindy it took about 6 or seven hours before I was out of the hospital. By the way, I've got some business books I need to catch up on that I already bought.

Yes, the doctor at the first clinic I went to advised that I do not go to that hospital.
Let's see if you can figure this nickname: My longest wait was 2 years ago for a gash in my hand at the "Grease" hospital.
It took almost nine hours before I got treated.

Good thing you will probably be on pain killers. Business books are painfully boring. Though not as bad as the computer books I have sitting on the shelf.

Sorry to hear about the surgery. Good luck with all of that.

Thanks.
No pain killers so far, though they gave me a perscription. I don't do pain killers. They delay healing. The pain has been keeping me from getting careless when moving around as well. I'll see how much the surgery hurts though.

I was born in the "Grease"
(no, that doesn't sound appealing).

Cheers! (business books=stupid and boring

I hope you don't go by the saying "You are what you read"
Oh wait... that was "eat" wasn't it?

Okay I'm curious. Recommend at least one thing bad and unhealthy that I need.
