I was going to suggest the skirt, too. My jeans never did fit over a cast. Barring that, US Navy surplus bell-bottom dungarees work, too. Thank goodness, I had a few pairs of those, when I had my cast.

Make sure that you get a walking cast. Crutches are a killer.

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
Having almost fully recovered from a wicked sprain to my own ankle from the summer, I sympathize. Crutches are a Royal PitA. I scared theh crap outta my two furries every time I tried using them. i was on them for over a month... could not walk. and no, it wasn't broken.

as for ankle bones not hurting if it's a sprain... depends on the sprain... mine? I sprained it right under said ankle bone... so yes, it hurt like h***. Of course most of that was from the swelling and the nerves... my ankle still isn't 100%, but I can walk decently on it. I just can't do as much walking as I used to. Anything more than a mile total causes pain. Sucks.

Anyway... have fun mending! Catch up on those reruns of old tv shows... I got re-hooked on my Trek shows... and some other shows my friends are amazed I admitted to (Murder, She Wrote; Poirot; Planet's Funniest Animals on Animal Planet...)

He could somewhat save his manliness by wearing a kilt instead of a skirt! At least people will think he's just a Scottish guy with a broken ankle instead of a cross dresser with a broken ankle!

Did you really have to take such drastic measures to get out of shoveling snow in good old Winterpeg? Ouch - sorry to hear about your mishap. Could you fit sweatpants (the kind without elastic ankle cuffs) over a cast?

Oh, Ryan, I was all ready to get on your case about your rude title, but now I am just wishing I was a neighbor so I could bring you a warm meal!

Chasey, you take good care of Ryan, you hear?!? Feel better soon, Ryan!

Sorry to hear you're on the bench for awhile. Maybe they'll have a cast design with kitties on it. . . Hello, Kitty!

Better stick with the long skirts - could get a chilly willy otherwise.

I wish there was a "reply all" button. I hate not replying to every post, especially when they are all so sweet and funny!
I have to go though. Let's see, no skirts or kilts for me!
Chasey doesn't really know how crippled I am, but she watches me move around with the crutches.
The crutches are great for turning on/off light switches and doors from a distance. The break is bad enough that I apparently can't get a walking cast, but not bad enough that it has to be screwed together. You're all a bunch of sweeties!!!
Did I say that yet?

Under the cats, mostly.
Crutches are also good for tripping up unsuspecting passers by. If you get it timed just right, you can break someone else's ankle too, that way when you're sat at home, you don't have to be alone

OOOOOOOOOOO, Ryan, that sucks!! Heal quickly! And in the meantime, take the opportunity to spoil yourself, and enjoy lots of cuddles with your sweet furperson.

Aw, poor Ryan. If I were closer I'd bring you over some nice home cooked beef stew (my husband says I make the best) and some nice soup. If you wanted something sweeter, I could send my daughter over.
