My wedding is in 3 weeks (eeeek!). I have a bridal shower next Saturday and our honeymoon is in Cancun on July 13th.
The drive from the airport is 2 hours...maybe I can sleep through it. I'm definitely going snorkeling!

Have fun at your bridal shower! I have never been to Cancun either but I'm sure you will have a great time!!

Yey, I can officially join this thread!

I'm just trying to find a place to put the wedding/reception right now. I'm so stressed out and it's ridiculous. Fh and I have looked at a few places, but so far most of them seem too big/don't have a dance floor/ or too far away.

Did/Does anyone else have this problem? One of my biggest fears is getting a place that's too big and then not having enough people to fill it up.

I would be much less concerned if its to big. More room to move around the better. Its much more of a problem if the place is to small. I went to a wedding recently where half the guests had to sit outside because there was no room and everyone outside felt left out because we had no idea what was going on inside (missed bouquet/garter toss and other events).

Yeah I agree.

Kaleetha, congratulations! And it is too early to get stressed out. You'll find a place, don't worry!

Thank you! I know it's waaay early to be stressed out...

The reason the size thing bothers me is cause I'm a bit of a... hm, is there a name for it? My biggest fear is that I'll plan a wedding (I don't want a huge one but about 100 people give or take would be fine) and that the whole thing will be a flop.

I invited about 20 people to my graduation party (that my Mom and Aunt put on) and 3 people showed up. Lots of other people that my Mom and Aunt invited showed up, but I didn't know them, and they weren't interested in knowing me.... and it wasn't much fun. Thats kinda where this is coming from... because this happens ALL the time to me... I try to plan something and it flops completely.

Thanks for your support though... maybe I should just invite everyone from TCS!

Your real friends will show up. What were your friends excuses for not coming to your party? Sorry but they don't sound like nice people to do that to you unless they have a legitimate excuse. I would find out who has a legitimate excuse and invite them to your wedding those who blew off your graduation party I would not invite.

Replying yes to a wedding and not showing up is extremely rude...because at that point your plate has already been paid for. You might want to try to figure out how many people you would invite, and then keep in mind that 10%-25% won't come. That would give you an idea of what to look for in the reception.

Also if you use theknot.com you can enter in your "A" list and "B" list so you know generally how many to expect as just as many A's probably won't come as B's will come. Our estimate has been right on so far! Though RSVP's are still rolling in.

Thank you all, for your advice about the guests. I appreciate it.

Now I have another question. I'm trying to do a fantasy/medieval themed wedding and I'm having a ton of fun trying to find a dress that fits my specifications. I've been on most of the more well known wedding dress sites, but am not really finding what I'm looking for.

Did any of you look for a non-traditional wedding dress and if so, where did you find it? Thanks!

I went to one recently. Check out this album for pics:
http://public.fotki.com/hurricanejed...tins_wedding_/

Unfortunately I don't have all the pics up from that wedding yet. They are about half up. She made her dress. However, at one time she was considering buying from someone so I'll see if I can get the web site of that person for you. The groomsman clothes they bought. My friend and I rented our costumes at the local party store.

I finally got my shoes and jewelry last night. I also got a gift for the flower girl. Now I just need to work on the programs, get the ushers gifts, get the ring pillow, get the garter, get unity candles....I'm sure theres more. Bridal Shower and Bacholette party on Saturday

. We finalized the ceremony decorations today. I finalized the details for the baker yesterday. I also have to get a headband to the florist for the flower girl. My finace is meeting with the DJ. The programs are going to take me forever! They are handmade paper with florals mixed in and not for printers. However, I really need a cover printed (inside is printed on vellum) so I am handfeeding each one individually and sometimes they jam or mis-feed so I will need to go buy more.

Also final head count needs to be determined on Friday and then we are making seating arrangements. Chris needs to finalize plans for the food for the rehearsal dinner.

I guess things are starting to wrap up though!

I had another wedding dream last night! It never works the way I plan... My bridesmaids handed out the programs and my fiance's nephew was left out (thats his job). Also they were handed out after the ceremony was over and the wrong person did the reading.

3 months till our wedding....

here is the update

I was having a very difficult time getting in touch with our officiant
he wouldn't return any of my phone calls or emails and I was getting very worried, so I called the company he works for and they informed me that he no longer works for them...but they did find me someone else.....thank goodness..I was going into panick mode!

All of the major stuff is complete and now I'm just trying to finalize the decorations for the reception. I have to go and meet with my florist next week (she is also doing my decorating...and she's my maid of honor's aunt too!)

Jeff and I went wedding band shopping, and I saw my wedding band...it's so pretty!

and the best news so far!!, all of the dresses have arrived...my bridesmaids and mine!!, I go for my first fitting at the end of this month..and I can hardley wait!!

Our Stag and Doe is only 3 weeks away as well!!, really looking forward to it!

How is everyone's planning coming...what about Amy?, haven't heard from you in a while hon..you're getting married a week after me!

Good luck Jenny82!!!!

And thank you SolarityBengals for the links.... I appreciate the info. It's surprising how many searchs you can do on the net and still there are more links out there that someone else can find.

These are a couple of the dresses that I'm considering at the moment... The first is a Maggie, and the second is a knock-off. I'm trying to find something that's sort of ethereal and fairy-like as well as generally easy to dance in.
