Oh I hear ya - flowers are very expensive! I use to work at a florist about 10 years ago...what you're paying for is for the actual manpower to arrange them...and it really isn't that difficult. You're a creative person so here's a thought - maybe you can just buy the roses or a less expensive flower of your choice and actually put them together yourself. I'm not sure what kind of bouquet you're looking to have but I thought of doing this...just tying a simply ribbon around a small bundle of roses. The guys bouts are easy to make too...you could probably find the directions online or in a flower arranging book. If you don't want to do this, less expensive filler flowers such as babys breath and greens will help bring the cost down.Originally Posted by Miss Mew
Wow Susan!!, your plans are really coming together!!, sounds like you've been one very busy bee
I'm going bridesmaid dress shopping tomorrow with my 4 bridesmaids. My one bridesmaid just called me last night to break the news to me that she is pregnant again!!(this is her 4th baby..she's had a baby a year since 2003). She's going to be 8 months pregnant when the wedding comes around and she still wants to be in the wedding party but now she says she'll have to find someone to make her dress. I told her that I'm sure there are designers that make maternity dresses...ahhh!!, she's been difficult the whole time though..so frustrating!!. She's wanted to wear a different dress since the very beginning. Ah that feels better **vent vent**
Jeff and I have also registered. One at Canadian Tire (for all of our cooking and camping needs)and Sears. Jeff will be coming home on Sunday (I haven't seen him in a month) and were hopefully going to add some items.
I'm also in the process of trying to get the whole wedding flowers dealt with as well. I went to the florist about a month ago and the $$ quote they came back with was a little steep so now I have to find flowers that are elegant that won't break the bank!...any suggestions??
Registering - oh we need to do that too. I already started one at Pottery Barn but Dennis and I both need to go to Bed, Bath & Beyond together too. We need so much...I will be so happy if we get a coffee maker that doesn't leak all over the place or a toaster that actually toasts the bread!!!
