I know my first one was in New Cats. I had googled something or other feline out of curiosity -- don't even remember what it was. TCS was one of the hits, so I prowled around for a couple of hours, by which time it was evident that [1] I needed to stay, and [2] I'd have to watch how much time I spent here.
I remarked to that effect in my first post, and I think it was Heidi who responded first, confirming the addictive nature of the site.

I had never belonged to a board before.
Sadie was scheduled to have her teeth cleaned under general anesthesia.
I was a nervous wreak about it.
My first post was in the Health forum asking for prayers for her safety.
I received so many thoughtful responses. I knew that TCS was were I belonged.
Stephanie was my Mentor and helped me learn how to use this site. She was so patient & kind.

i havnt been here as long as some of you so i do remember my first post very well! It was introducing myself and Zeus. I remember i kept posting in the wrong sections lol. I really fell in love with this site after i got Zephyr i was sooo scared and nervous about introducing them to each other and i got such great advice from the people on this site and it worked great!

I was in the process of adopting my first kitten ever (Ebony) and lived in an apartment at the time which I knew allowed pets. We put in the adoption app. on 8wk old Eb and came home to find out that our apartment only accepted pets 1 year or older!
I was at a loss for what to do because we knew the shelter ran apartment checks before they adopted out. So I scheduled a meeting with the landlord to try to get special permission.
I started by googling things about special pet expceptions at apartments and came to find TCS and a post by another new member at the time. I decided I needed some moral support and advice and posted my first post. I was overwhelmed by the amounts of friendly, caring, helpful people on this board!
Now over a year later I have made some exceptional friends, I have Ebony and I am so grateful to have found this wonderful board.

I really don't remember, and since the "search" function isn't working, I can't check and see. It has been too long - 2 1/2 years and over 8,000 posts. It was probably in the Lounge or New Cats.
From what I can remember, it was in the lounge (NCOTB didn't exist yet) posting about how excited I was that I was going to be fostering orphaned and abandoned kittens. I'm sure I sounded like a right newbie but, as everyone has said, people were so welcoming and friendly.
I found TCS right after I rescued Georgia, now gone to the Bridge. I was so outraged that someone had thrown this tiny kit from a moving car, and was in a new town with no one to talk to. I was asking advice on how to find a home for her. NCTOB did not exist then. I remember hissy's thread entitled "someone flew a plane into the World Trade Center" right above my post.
