I had another thread up the other day on my new kitten and her diahrrea. Well we took her saturday and nothing showed up in her tests but they still thought it could be the parasite Coccidia (and we are familiar with that since my dog had it when she was a puppy), but anyways they basically gave us medicine and everything and her stool is starting to look better but there looks like there's a little blood in it? I was wondering if this could be from hemmroids(if they can get them) or soreness because it's very red and puffy and she has trouble sitting and getting comfortable. This is really bothering me but my dad doesnt think it's a big deal since we're taking her into the vet saturday for her first shots but to me I think we should take her sooner if we see it in her stool again. Any comments or suggestions on this would be very helpful.

Most likely, the blood is as a result of the infection, but if you see an increase in the amount of blood- call the vet.

A few drops of blood at the end of a bowel movement is nothing to worry about. It's just a sign that the intestines are a little irritated. If the amount of blood increases, though, then she needs to see the vet immediately.

Marlee was treated for Coccidia a week or so after I got her. She was having diarrhea with blood before hand, which is why she started on the med. After she had been on it, her stool formed up well but it was like she was constipated (but the stool was not hard balls, it was normal). She also continued to have some blood, but only on the outside of the poop, not actually IN the poop. The vet said this was just irritation from getting rid of the Coccidia, and her intestines just weren't use to normal poop yet. I gave her some canned pumpkin and the problem cleared up in a day or so. Good luck!
