5'5"...119 lbs....what's most important is that I feel good about myself.

Pat, congrats on losing all that weight!
That's a fantastic accomplishment!

I'm 5 feet tall & weigh 105. I lost 10 pounds back in December (within 2 weeks) due to viral pneumonia and only gained 5 pounds back. I eat right & exercise and my metabolism is really, really high.

I avoid sodas (every now & then I'll have a mixer of Tequila & Diet Coke), I drink a buttload of water every day, I don't eat fried foods, and I portion my meals; eat little things thru the day. Also I use 8 pound weights to work out with, 5 pound ankle weights, I box (80 pound punching bag) and I have a stationary bike. I pace alot and I also never stop moving (even while sleeping, I sleepwalk!) so I think that is how I stay thin.

I'm 5'4" and weight about 140-145 so I need to loose around 20 lbs to be happy. Giving up the fast food would go along way in doing that. It sucks that it's getting colder out because it's much easier for me to exercise when it's nice outside. I like walking and bicycling but indoors it's just kind of blah.

I'm also in the seriously overweight category. I'm nine weeks into Weight Watchers, though, and have lost 25 pounds so far. So...in a year or so I plan to be able to check "not overweight"!

I'm in the higher end of my weight range but I need to lose about 5-10 pounds, only because my butt has grown out of control. the rest of me is OK tho, but I have a huge ghetto booty! And I'm not even saying that in a remotely good way, it's actually almost disgusting

I'm in my weight range for my height but I would LOVE to lose about 10-15 lbs to make me happier with how I look. I know I'm not fat but am just unhappy with how my body looks. So I clicked I'm not overweight but thought I would explain.

and then have the satisfaction of completely ignorning them for a change.

i had a horrid time at highschool because of my weight and even though i'm over it now it can still hurt when i think about it.

A while ago i made friends with two girls, one who was slightly overweight but looked really pretty and another who was very overweight, iv'e been there myself so i understood how they felt when they talked about negative comments regarding there weight, fir a while they were fine but then they would start to look through magazines and call every thin blonde girl 'dumb' a bimbo or something else nasty and i was thinking 'i'm thin and blonde! does that mean they think i'm dumb too?' it really hurt because i liked these girls a lot but i never felt i fit in with them because they had weight issues and would talk about it together completely leaving me out even though they both knew i'd been there too.

they would also roll their eye's when we'd get ready to go out dancing and i'd put on a fitting dress or make snide comments when i talked about bikini's.

i can totally understand how they felt but all i wanted to do is be there friend yet it seemed that because i was thin i could never truly be one of them, that hurt a lot.

I am like that,
According to the healthy book, i am just at the border.
But i am now down to 57 thank god! and i plan to get down to atleast 50 - 55 kilograms!
i want to get to 50 kg's too
i think i have about 7 to 10 to lose, i don't weigh myself though so i wouldn't know, whenever i do weigh myself and i'm a bit over i exercise too much

Ya`ll are "teenie boppers"!
While I have lost at least a thousand pounds in my lifetime (50-100 here and there on variouse diets and over 200 on weight watchers I always seem to gain it back)
Everytime I get determined, I can lose, but it`s the keeping it off that i have a problem with.
I`ve pretty much decided I`ll most likely be a Yo Yo for the rest of my life and will probably die fat. (Unless on the off chance that I die at some point that there is a day that i`m thinner) Oh well...i`d rather be fat than mean.

No teenie bopper here. Consider checking out the Carbohydrateaddicts Lifespan Program by Dr.'s Rachel and Richard Heller (ignore the stupid title, the research behind this is sound.) Find the book at your local bookstore, take the quiz and if appropriate for you, pm me and I'll put you in touch with a superb support group for followers of this.
It is a lifesaver for those it is appropriate for.

I'm in the could lose 5-10lb category. I could stand to lose a few, but I'm pretty happy were I'm at because I love to eat and don't care to work out much more than I already do.

I`ve lost a lot on Atkins low carb diet before....but got really sick of so much protien all the time....and when I went off...I NEVER GAINED SO MUCH BACK SO FAST IN MY LIFE!!!!
The South Beach sounds like it is more healthy.....with using the glycemic index and using mostly only the "good carbs"....is this like that???
Thanks for the info.

i browsed through the site but i didnt see anything specifically giving facts about being healthy and over weight. all it seemed to be was a bunch of articles criticizing other articles that talked about larger people.

its one thing to be a bit overweight but i'd never let myself get grossly overweight, with a BMI over 30 ( i think above that is severe if i remember from my nutrition class). i know people who think everyone can control their weight, and its people's faults if they get overweight. i personally think it can be both, yes some people go out and order the most quantity from a menu to get their bucks worth and never hit the gym. it just amazes me when i worked at round table i'd see the same familes come in every week..some average weight..some overweight. sometimes i hear its a thryoid or some hormonal issue. either way i hit the gym every day and leaned more toward going to the farmers market to get food, lol. but who knows for all i know i'll get skin cancer because i dont put on sunscreen everyday j/k.

i mean not everyone 70 years ago were as big as some of us are today..so there's definitely something that can change. i always see serving size portions of USA compared to other countries. its gross seeing people buy a big gulp of soda..or better yet. go to a fast food restaurant. then get a diet coke..some people just boggle me, lol.

I put 5-10 lbs over weight but I'm really not sure by the charts. I'm 5'8 and weigh 158 so whatever that is.... I would like to get down to about 135 or 140 because that is where I look the best....

Oh yes, I'm overweight by about 20kg. I am losing it slowly - particularly since we got our pups and I've been walking every day - but it's a slow road.

It's been really hard for me cos I've always been really tiny, but I guess an unhappy marriage will do that for you! Comfort eating became my security blanket and on piled the kilos as a result!

I used to weigh 48kg (128lb) but now I'm nearly 75kg (200lb)!!

I've lost four kilos so far and I must say even that small amount has made a difference to my clothes etc...

Another 16 to go I don't want to get back down to 48kg I had no boobs!!!
