I talk to Eponine and Cosette all of the time. Sometimes I think they understand what I'm saying (mostly b/c of my tone of voice and my physical gestures), though I know they have no clue what I'm saying most of the time.

If you could choose ONE thing that you say to your kitties that you wish they understood 110%, what would it be?

I wish that Eponine could understand me when I tell her that she is my soulmate kitty, and that my love for her runs deeper than it ever has for any animal, ever. I wish that Cosette could understand me whenever I laugh at her and tell her what a goofy kitty she is; I want her to know how much laughter and joy she has brought to our home.

I wish my cats understood the concept of time. Just because I've opened the refrigerator, removed their food, set it on the counter along with a paper plate......it doesn't mean that the food is out of the container, neatly arranged on the plate and becoming stale, all because I feel like listening to a chorus of lamenting meows and howls from a hoard of bengals who are obviously starving because they haven't eaten in four hours.

I truly believe that our cats believe I am an evil magician who can easily conjure up plates of food in a nano-second, but I choose not to because I would rather torture them for the 3 to 4 mins it takes me to prepare their feast. They tell me this everyday!

I wish Chuckie would understand me when I say "I am not a scratching post!"

I wish they understood when I said I love them, though I think they do, on some level understand.
Also, one simple word: No!
No jumping on the kitchen counter to try to eat our dinner, no jumping on the table when we're trying to eat, no chewing on the blind cords, no scratching on the doorways...the list goes on and on

But, mostly, I'd like them to know how special I think they are, and how happy I am that I get to share my home and life with them!

I wish they understood that when I take the vacuum out of the closet, it does NOT mean that I'm going to chase them down & try to suck them up with it! They get this HORRIFIED look and tuck-tail, run & hide when I get the Oreck out! I'm ONLY trying to CLEAN...

And, I wish they understood that when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee, they really should *try* to get out of my way versus me having to move 6 immobile, snoring lumps out of the way... like they're in a coma or something...

Ivo can be rather skittish. Sometimes she flinches or runs when I walk towards her too loudly or too quickly. I wish she understood when I tell her I'll never hurt her purposefully and that sometimes I just happen to be walking in the same direction she is.

I would prefer if Roxy did not bite me while I am applying eyeliner. He has a tendency to do that because he thinks I'm ignoring him, but that is probably the worst time to bite!! (love bites but still, I end up jumping, and you know the rest)

for Pixel, i wish she would understand that when i make her take medicine, it's for her own good - also that i will always win the medicine fight, so just give up now!
for Cable, i wish she would understand that kneading bare skin on people is painful... she will stick her paws under my shirt sleeve to knead
also that i wish she would sleep with me like the other 2 do.
for Java, i wish she would understand that claw clipping is a necessary evil & will happen no matter how much she struggles!
