I just got back from getting my haricut, and I hate it!!!
I have been going to the same person for 20years, and I have never had a problem. She just butchered it!!!

So sorry to hear about that! Did you say something to her? I certainly would have. I once had a hairdresser do that to me too. It's devastating!

Oh that's just the worse feeling.

Last time I went to the hairdresser, I left looking like a boy.

Thankfully, my hair's grown back, and so will yours!

Welcome to my world !

I'm sorry for you, though. If it's been 20 yrs you are very lucky.

Under the cats, mostly.
Yep, I'm still recovering form a really bad haircut I had in April. I'm so sorry to hear that you think yours has come out so badly as well sweetie. It doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks of it - if YOU hate it, that's what's important. I'd go back there, tell her you hate it and get all your money back. Then go somewhere else and get it fixed. Don't be tempted to get your original hairdresser to do it again though, chances are she'd make it worse. And don't look for a cheap hairdresser second time around either - as you know, you get what you pay for. Fortunately it was just a cut, because cuts are really easy to make better, or they grow out. I had a really nasty perm AND a diabolical cut, and I yelled at the top of my voice in the salon that there was no way I was going to be seen dead in public looking like this and what the hell was she thinking to do this to my hair! It cost me nearly £50 to have done. It's cost me nearly £300 to have made to look more or less normal again. It was ruined right to the root of the hair, so it's dry (although straight and not frizzy anymore thanks to my new hairdresser) and that's going to take a lot of fixing and growing out.

Bad hairdressers should be made to wear the "creations" of bad hair days. Definitely go and make your feelings known. If only to lay the guilt trip on the hairdresser. I don't know why, but it's curiously satisfying to watch them squirm. Get the money back and then go out and have coffe, or a facial, or go buy yourself more shoes or chocolate or something. Retail therapy daaaahling!

It happens to all of us at some time or another. I am growing out now because of my last haircut. I was wearing my hair in a wedge cut, which is even with my ear lobes on the sides and stacked shorter in the back. It was cut in long lengths. Well the last time, I reminded her about the lengths in my hair. She proceeded to cut me short lengths and I didn't realize till she was finished. It was so short on top, my curling iron wouldn't work because the hair was not long enough. It has been over two mos now and I am still trying to get it grown out like I want it again.
At least hair grows, and we just have to be patient. I think it would be easier to talk to your regular hairdresser than to break in a new one. I would just go to her and explain what happened and why you don't like it. Ask her why she cut it so differently than she has done for 20 years and see if she thinks she can help you get it back like you want it.

I would be absolutely livid! Try to get your money back from her. Wait a couple weeks and go somewhere else and get it fixed...this is why I have hair to my rear end. I don't trust anyone to cut it except to trim the dead ends off of it!

*HUGS*

I had that happen about 8 months ago...I ended up looking like I had a mullett...very very scary. I have not been back to that hairdresser because it wasn't the first time I wasn't happy with a haircut, we discussed things and he claimed to try and improve. But of course didn't so now the search is on. Now tho the hair has grown out and because my hair is long now it looks good but still need the ends trimmed and such.

I am not sure if the term mullett makes sense to anyone but let me just say that it is the one haircut feared by all in South Africa, I walked around with my hair tied up and hairsprayed down for many weeks.

I have an apointment tomorrow at a new place to get my semi-mullet disaster fixed!! I even took in a picture to the last woman and showed her the hairstyle I wanted, a simple Jodie Foster, Silence of The Lambs type of long bob - she ended up giving me this awful layered mullet!

I sympathise with all of you that still can't find a good hairdresser - I don't know if there is a good one in this town, but I'm going to keep trying... Wish me luck tomorrow!!

It really stinks that you had a bad cut. Maybe someone else can fix it so it will grow back our properly.

I worked at a salon and got my hair butchered the last time the girl cut it. I had to get it cut collar length to get all the gaps and chunks evened out. I think she did it on purpose because I let someone else do my color when she was too busy. I did not think I would like it this short, but I love it. It curled all up, and now I just have to dry my bangs, run my fingers through the rest of it, and go. I had always had very long hair, and had no idea that it was curly if it did not have all the weight to it. I was going to let it grow shoulder length, but I might keep it short.

You've had the same hairdresser for 20 years, it took me that long to find one I finally liked! Hope they can get this cut closer to what you wanted. It's really upsetting when something like this happens! I'm sorry, good luck!

What I can't understand is how the mullett keeps on surviving...

Maybe you can go to a different hairdresser for help, if not able to fix it maybe they can give you tips on how to style it in a nice way?
