Have you turned on your heat yet? My house is a sieve, so lately I have been cheating using my electric heater in whatever room I was in, but two days ago I finally gave up and turned the furnace on.
Yesterday it was snowing too, so it was about time.

Oh man there's SUCH a long time before we turn the AC off. Even though it's been POURING for the last two weeks it's still staying between 85-90 during the day and cooling down into the 60's at night. But I'm going to FLIP OUT if it doesn't stop raining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh!
SIEVE! I was sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out what style of house a "siv" was when it hit me!

We may be turning ours on in a couple of days, however briefly as y'all's cold air is headed this way. Lows in the 50's but highs only in the upper 60's. Which is just a tad on the chilly side for me.

What I wouldn't give for some snow right now-it is still so hot & muggy here, today I wanted to scream. It's October 6 for crying out loud, & our heat index is still around 90`, at least. Will it ever cool off??

I broke down and turned the furnace on last Saturday, and, surprisingly, hubby didn't object. Ours works on a timer, and is set to be on from 5 - 7 a.m., 12 - 1:30 p.m., and 5 - 10 p.m.. The radiators in the kitchen and bathroom are left on at a low setting, and I "open" the radiator in the living room when I get home from work (or if Jamie demands that it be turned on; he goes to the knob, and yowls until one of us turns it on. Smartypants.). The radiators in the other rooms are only turned on if it's below -10° C..

I had a few days last week that I had the heat on first thing in the morning just to take the chill out. On the flip side, I have the AC on in my bedroom right now just to take the humidity out! Gotta love the weather around here!

It was 90 for the past week, so I'm sitting here ENJOYING the 55 degree weather with a nice chilly breeze coming in off he lake (which I live about a quarter of a mile from now, hooray!!). I've got my windows open and the radiators are closed: I LOVE Sweater Weather and the changing seasons!

I was using the heater in my car today... but I think the AC is still on in the house.

Snow? That sounds wonderful. It was 100 degrees, with a humidty of 7% here yesterday.
We are having our annual Santa Ana winds in So.Calif.
It is dry as an old bone.

Hey, don't worry about it. It drives me nuts that one of our local meteorologists insists on spelling "trough" as "troff"
on their website. I notice that he has gotten better about it though
!
