I don't know if this belongs here, but I plan on using boiled linseed oil on my front and back porches this fall, to nourish the wood. I don't want to paint or stain it, I just thought the linseed oil would help with the severe drying here in AZ.

However, I feed my ferals on the back porch and I want to knowi f that stuff will hurt them. They will get it on their paws, lick their paws and fur and I don't want to use anything that will hurt them.

Of course, the hardware store guy looked at me like I had three heads and said that of course it would not hurt. I would like the opinions of my cat family before I buy and use.

Boiled linseed oil has chemical drying agents added. I don't think you would want a cat to get that on its feet. Can you keep them off until it has soaked in/dryed out? Or can you use raw linseed oil instead?
