So what are they really? Are they genetically defective Sphynx? And if that's the case why continue to breed
a bad line????

My little guy was a gift from my brother, I think he paid $2500-$3500 because he is experimental. I would assume they will be extremely expensive once sold as a breed. Only a few Kohonas are born to a litter and Mr Pigs litter has been the last so far. as only a few Kohonas come out of a litter and my little guys litter was the last one so far. There is only one KK not fixed. Lets hope there are more to come. Tiffany

The KK was born to a long hair feral cat in Hawaii. MR PIG is a product of a natural mutation, it is very rare though that the COMPLETE HAIRLESSNESS gene is dominant. It would be nice to meet another KK owner.

Well, they certainly are "striking" (in the Seinfeld sense)!
But to each his own I guess, as long as they're healthy and well cared for.
They do look like wrinkled old folk....I feel a new addition to my human/animal thread coming on!

JoeCool- what's this twisty cat breed you're talking about? I've never heard of them.

Wow Wellington - I'm shocked on the breeding ban that Europe is proposing. While some bans should be in effect, there are others that are totally out of line. I own/bred Cornish rex - they are mutations but nothing is harmful for the cats. The manx breeders have to make sure tailless to tailless is not bred - otherwise they are safe.

This will be a disaster in Europe to eliminate some of the established breeds!

Twisty cats were a terrible thing where a guy kept inbreeding these poly-bobs, and they had more polydactyly per litter, and then they started to get screwed up in the legs and spine, etc. It was horrible.

The munchkin, however, is a good breed where they have shorter legs than is usual. they are a healthy breed, and very good mousers. They are sort of like a feline dachson. Again i stress that it is a healthy mutation.

In my opinion, the munchkins haven't been around long enough to be deemed a healthy breed yet.
I've seen one or two rescued munchkin cats for adoption on the internet that had problems with their spines. I think time will tell.

They probably aren't purebred Munchkins, bred by responsible breeders. Probably a BYB trying to pass them off as Munchkins.

All breeds have to start out somewhere...this is a very new breed that hasn't had the time to develop and file for registration.

Well I looked and I think they're cute. If I had one, I'd name it Grandpa.
Honestly as long as they're healthy animals then I don't see why it should be a problem.

I love Sphynxes, I have one and am completely addicted. But those little guys kind of remind me of a buttered turkey before you pop it in the oven. It would be fun to have one, grease him up and name him Richard Simmons

So sorry I have been MIA for a bit. I was having a hard time with my chronic pain disease. My meds were not working too well. I have CPRS/RSD/RSDS, it is a horriable thing. But enough with that. The little MISTER (MR PIG) he is AWESOME!!!!!! No health issues to report, unless you consider over eating an issue. He steals any food around, even the pigs ears my yellow lab eats (yes tries to take from her mouth). He is also extremely daring when it comes to approaching any type of animal, he targets large dogs. My poor 11 going on 12 year old lab, he just loves to flip around attacking her and biting her. We are now in Florida, Boca to Miami area, all he wants to do is go out in the sun and run around with the local cats. It breaks my heart to hear him cry because I only let him out under adult supervision or with my Sierra (yellow lab). He just loves to burrow under the covers when it is nap time. When he is not tormenting my dog or getting into everything(closets, drawers, cabanets, anything.....) he is riding on someones shoulders. Just climbs or jumps right on. We or should I say HE is lucky that his claws are pretty far in his paws, it is almost like he has fingers. gotta run. other computer lost hard drive so will have to dig up my old discs to get photos together for everyone to enjoy. As I have said before, computers do not like me. Tiffany OH AND HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
