I am looking for a new kitten but since I don't drive it is hard to get anywhere farther then about 1 mile out of town so I was wondering if there is anyone on this board that lives in or around the town of Princeton Minnesota that has any kittens to give away.

Have you tried looking at your local shelter? You could probably get a taxi to take you to look. Just a thought.

I am from a small town and the only place I have ever known of that has kittens is the local vet, and I already called him and they do'nt have any.

You probably already know about petfinder.com? I haven't seen any shelters right near Princeton but maybe you could find some help there?

I would not give up looking for your kitten yet. Once my cat Juniper (RB) went missing for two weeks, and during that time I had lots of calls regarding the flyers I had put up, but none were him. Then one day two small boys arrived at the house with a black kitten, saying htey had found it and maybe it was mine (Juniper was b/w and adult). But we kept the kitten, couldn't find an owner and Scrabble joined the household. Then Juniper suddenly turned up, thin but OK. Sadly Scrabble was a road victim 6 months later. Just a warning - if you take in another kitten now, be prepared for possibly an extra cat to look after.

I agree. Have you put up tons of flyers with a picture on it around town of your other little one that was lost? Talked to all the neighbours? Don't give up hope. A missing little one is heartbreaking, but you might just find her soon..

If you can take on the extra burden of a new kitten, then you could contact the rescue groups in your state. You will have to apply to adopt a kitten, and they prob. will insist on indoor-only situations (which after my recent bad experiences) I think are the best, unless you can fence in a safe play-yard. You could even call some of the ads in the papers & discuss the transportation situation with the people offering kittens in the rather far areas - they might be willing to bring one to you, just to place it in a safe home. I would heartily recommend reviewing what you could do to prevent another disappearance, if anything, and have your safeguards in place, before the newest arrival!!

Kari...I just read your other post....I would hope that if you do adopt a new kitten..that you will keep it indoors until it has received all it's shots and is spayed.

I checked last night and there was a shelter in Zimmerman with quite a few kitties on petfinder. It's still a ways for you but hopefully close enough that someone can drive you to get something set up?

Also I saw a sign at Petsmart that adoption weekend is Sept 16-17 or somewheres around there...maybe you could get a friend to take you to Petsmart that weekend?
