Thanks Susan. Singapuras are known to be sociable and affectionate. In fact, the stud males are often found sleeping in a pile when housed together. We have known for some time that Lily would benefit from company but the indoor/outdoor kitties are really not that interested.

Sarah, Jan and Jilly - thank you so much. He is settling in beautifully and chatters to us whenever we go and see him.

I reckon you're right about the photo Sarah - it may just find its way into my siggy!

What a beautiful boy you have there!

What a beautiful kitty! I know nothing about that breed (going to research it now tho) so thx for sharing the pix and his story. He looks like he has bonded with you already!! Such a cutie!!! Is your Lilly also a Singapura?

Thanks AbbysMom and Cyberkitten

Yes, Cyberkitten, Lily is a Singapura too. She and Tolly share the same father and many ancestors in their pedigree on the mother's side. They have many of the same behavioural characteristics too even though they had never met before yesterday.

Thank you Lacey.

He seems to look even more like Lily to us now as his face seems to have softened somehow now he is not so stressed. It seems more rounded rather than pointed so we end up saying "which one's that?"

He also seems to be a little more considerate of Lily now too and I think she is enjoying having him around.

yay!!! I'm happy to hear he is adapting nicely.

I can't wait to see more pictures of the handsome new guy

He is pretty, the first thing I thought was why did lilly's name get changed..... You said he is already bigger than Lilly, but do you know how big he will get? Is lilly the normal size for a girl? I think she is the most delicate feminine pretty little thing.
and where did you get the name tolstoy? is it the famous novelist? Why did you pick that name?

What a handsome boy! Congrats on the addition to your family!

Thank you Lacey, Roxy, luxmysphynx and Cassie .

Roxy - Tolstoy is nearly 3 years so he's fully grown now. Although not big by "normal" cat standards he's a bit hefty by Singapura standards - due to him being neutered. He easily tops the 8 lb mark.

The name Tolstoy - we think he was named after the novelist although are not sure. His late owner chose the name. We thought the poor little boy had been through enough trauma in the last couple of weeks without changing his name too. Plus, his late owner loved and adored him, so we will keep the name she chose. It's appropriate that he's named after a novelist anyway - he tells me a story every time I see him - "hello Tolly" reply "Yiow, yiow yioooowwwww"

Lily is also a little hefty for a girl Singapura having been spayed - she's 6 lbs.

Both are at the top end of their weight range.

Some more photos of Tolstoy.

These were taken on his first day home

These were taken today - he looks a lot more settled even if he is sizing up my camera strap

It's hard to get photos of Lily and Tolstoy together at the moment - but they do have some lovely moments that we can't capture yet. Here were the little terrors earlier on:

GOTCHA

Hope you enjoyed them!

Thank you Lacey - it will be lovely when we finally get a cuddle picture. They spend most of the night asleep close together only 6 inches apart. That picture must be coming soon I feel.

Awww Tolly says thank you Auntie Stephanie. Thank you for sharing our relief that he's settling in - as you know I was so worried about his Tigger tendency of racing in and bowling Lily over - but things seem to be settling down. Phew!!
Definitely wonderful that the Tigger in Tolly is calming down a bit!
