At the kitty's beck and call
After a very tense wait this week for parents and child alike, today is a good day.

Our non-fur kid has been studying extremely hard for her A'levels (exams that determine whether a student can go to University here in the UK). Today was A'level results day.

None of us slept well last night, knowing that today was the big day. We were at the school at 9 am to get her results - and she PASSED
and made the grades for her first choice University.

We are incredibly proud of her and just wanted to share our joy with you all today.

WELL DONE SWEETIE!!!!!!

Congratulations to her! I well remember that day for myself and for my daughter when her time came around. Nailbiting stuff. Now my daughter has to go through it as a teacher for her students. Good luck to your daughter at university!

Thanks so much Jenny, Tracy, catsknowme, Susan, snosrap5 and Sarah.

Susan and Sarah - tonight we're off to her favourite Chinese Restaurant - it has been booked since the weekend. We already had the Champagne in the fridge waiting and opened that when she got back from school. She had saved the bottle from her 18th birthday, intending to open it on this day.

She will be going to Leicester University to study Biology. She wanted to go there because of their history in genetics (DNA testing was developed there). She has a particular interest in animal behaviour and is applying for some internships abroad for the next few summers too.

Phew! What a day.

That sounds like a brilliant way to celebrate - especially the morning champagne!

Yes, I've heard from my Sis that Leicester is excellent for Biology! Plus she'll be pretty close to home for washing and food!
Or are you still planning to move?

I can imagine you're in need of the relaxing times tonight - it is amazing how much tension builds up with results!

The Champagne was great you're right - trouble is I was sleepy all afternoon

I think the idea of being able to ring up mum and dad to collect the washing and cook all her favourite food at the weekend is extremely appealing!!!

I guess we're all going to sleep well tonight - it's so true, everyone's neck muscles ache today with all the tension.

So sorry to have missed this earlier on, but massive congratulations to your daughter for passing!
It always amazes me what students have to do to get into Uni with conditional / unconditional offers etc. It puts so much pressure on them... but I am glad that she got what she wanted, she did very well and I bet you are all chuffed!

I remember getting my A'Level results.... 10 years ago!

My friend did Law there - De Monfort isn't it? I remember going to visit her during February time one year, we got snowed in her student house!
