yes x 3, though I could only vote once. Although, I would have liked to seen what Emmy & Samson's kittens would have looked like.....

Our first three were spayed/neutered as part of the shelter adoption package. Our fourth, Tiger (4th picture) was a stray we took in so we paid for her spaying.

I put other because Charcoal is and so is Sage. Oskar and Jinx aren't yet but I am taking them in Sunday to get nuetered. Then all my babies will be fixed.

Billy is, CJ will be as soon as I can save up enough, and Annie and Mirah are too little.

all of ours are. Luna, our newest addition was done just a few days ago actually. She's already happier, and likes being out of heat.

When my first cat adopted me I knew NOTHING about cats. sHE SUDDENLY BECAME fat and had 4 kittens. Soon as we could wean them she was spayed, BUT it was too late. Some years later she died of liver cancer spread from her mammary cancer. Her daughter was spayed at 8 months, and my Ben was neutered at 8 months. Panther and Missy were s/n when they found me BUT Kotton was spayed late in life. I have NO idea how old she is but I worry lke crazy!

Around here it is a very common expression/term. It is the unisex way of saying s/n. Any vet knows what you are talking about, and sometimes the shelter says that they are fixed on petfinder.com (most of the time it is altered though). It isnt a bad term, so I see nothing wrong with using it.

The thought of Spirit reproducing is too scary to think about. All of mine are fixed, and my foster momma goes in tomorrow to be spayed.

The boys are about 5 months old now, so I'll be making an appointment for them soon.

I always thought of "fixed" as more of a colloquialism. Personally (just my preference) I prefer the term "altered" or even the (mostly outside the US) phrase "de-sexed."

Fixed is the most common term in the US, I'd say.

dexsexed is commonly used in Europe and Australia. I just have always heard altered or spayed/neutered. Fixed is something you might do to your car, not your cat.

Too right. I have had one un-neutered cat - she came to me un-neutered at 14 and died from mammary cancer a day short of 2 months later, so i am very very much for it, and will do my best to spread the message so that she didnt die in vain.

We generally use the term neuter in the UK, i dont like altered or de-sexed - they are still the same cats.

Absolutely! Phineas and Henry were already neutered when I adopted them, and Meeko and Esmeralda were both neutered/spayed as kittens, as soon as they were old enough.

All of mine are/were altered. 3 came to me already neutered and we had Lil' Jag spayed when she was 5 months.

We use the term desexed.

I voted YES! and No I am a breeder.

I breed Persian & Exotic cats so my breeding cats are entire but my show boy Elmo is desexed.
