That's about it.
I would have loved to see 98* in person!, you lucky duck!

I have to check the guy's work who did it, and was a little taken aback when it came across my desk.
Oh wow! I wouldn't imagine they enjoy giving out their licenses. Good of him to send it anyway though I suppose. I have no problem admitting that I have been a Backstreet Boys fan for 8 years now, and still going strong.

Movin' on up!
When Russ was alive, we worked security at the annual Michael Landon Tennis Tournament. Russ and Michael were always playing practical jokes, on one another. After the tournament, security was allowed to change out of our uniforms and party in the VIP tent.

Judge Wapner is a very nice man, as is Barry Williams (The Brady Bunch). Pat Boone preaches, every time he gets handed a microphone and he didn't come to the party.

While living in Tombstone, a lot of celebrities came to town and saw our shows. Janie Fricke and I had a nice chat, before her concert (we were both waiting for the ladies' room).

Willie Nelson IS nice. Twenty-five years ago, I was backstage, at one of his concerts and he stopped to play with (then) 2-year-old Mark. Wish I'd had a camera.

Hehe yeah it was pretty neat! The other cool part was that with the backstage passes came "reserved seating" and they were doing two shows that day (both at Seaworld in Orlando, one in the afternoon, one at night) so we sat 2nd row for the first and 1st row for the second! We were 16 at the time so we were really flipping out. While we were waiting to meet them I was staring at the guy Jeff in the group and he saw me and winked at me. My 16 year old heart nearly stopped haha!

I attended several St. Louis Star Trek conventions in the and met all of the original series except William Shatner and actually had the late Jimmy Doohan recognize me the second time he appeared in St. Louis. Also met Ron Perlman (Vincent, "Beauty and the Beast").

MIchael Rosenbaum (Smallville) grew up not far from me and I know his mother. Saw him at her 2002 wedding and most recently at a local pizza place.

Met John Schneider recently at a Dukesfest, and met Catherine Bach last year.

In February, I was in New Orleans for the Mardi Gras and Jake and I went to a cafe and there was this weird man walking around stealing newspaper and I sat at a table, told Jake to hold it while I made the lunch order. I told the lady where my table was - I couldnt see it from where I was ordering and she brought it to the table. After ordering, I walked to the table and this fella was sitting there, he had stolen it from Jake and my coffee was on the table - so I just grabbed it and sat down! I got horrified looks from other people and I couldnt figure out why. This man seemed not to care.
I sat down at the table next to him and ate my lunch - he brought his own. He seemed sooo weird and kept talking to himself and reading emails that he had printed out. And he kept looking over at me and the more he looked at me, the more familiar he was.
Then it hit me, it was Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf of LOTR!!!) He certainly is weird.
We also saw Sean Astin and Elijah Wood in New Orleans and Sean is the friendlier one of the two. Personally, I thought Elijah was gay.

Scamperfarms, how did you meet Karl Urban??? I've met and worked with a few kiwi celebrities but no one that famous.

I met Michael McDonald (formerly of the Doobie Brothers). He was doing a sound check in the afternoon before his evening performance and my friend and I had gone early to get good seats (it was an outdoor concert). There were about 11 people altogether there and he came over and talked to us and since we didn't have any paper he autographed my jeans on my thigh! Heart be still!

I also have a friend who was living with Alvin Taylor in California. At that time he was the top studio drummer. He plays on George Harrison's 33 1/3 album and was on tour with Leo Sayer and they were in Toronto to play for the billboard awards. When he came to Toronto he said if I baked him my special peanut butter cookies he would take me backstage. I did, he did and it was awesome. I stood between Kenny Rogers and Bobby Vinton while Alvin was onstage.

My hubby and I met John Fogarty (from the band Creedance Clearwater Revival). He was taking the cheapest airline out of Baltimore. Got his picture and autograph. My hubby was so excited about meeting him that we got lost in Baltimore afterwards.

Actually just about any celeb you can think of that has a Florida connection (aka Disney) has an account with us. Britney Spears has one, I sent a claim form to her but her "peeps" never sent it back. Someone told me all the Backstreet Boys have claims in, but that was the only one I saw. Gloria Estefan had a claim in a few years back. I also processed a claim for Tammy Wynette's estate, which was about $30k if memory serves me. Apparently there's been quite the contest over her estate (her real name was Virginia something) so we sent it to our legal dept. to make sure the right people got it!

And they were VERY gracious to send Nick's ID. There are lots of Joe Schmo's out in the world who call us up and bless us out just for asking for it. And we're a State Agency.

LMAO! I never thought he was very cute anyway. I think he's weird looking. But he does strike me as the type of guy that may look gay at first glance but really isn't.

*gasp* ALL of the Backstreet Boys! I would die if I worked somewhere that they all had accounts at. I'm a giant dweeb when it comes to them! Just saw them last week in Tampa actually so I'm on super Backstreet mode right now.

I have to say that I was very pleased with Nick's attitude when I met him. He may get into some silly troubles, but I think a lot of that has to do with his age and kind of trying to find himself. As a whole I think he's a very decent person, and I'm glad he (and his "people") were not ones to give you hell!

I met Heather Locklear when she filmed "Return of the Swamp Thing" here in Savannah. I was about 8 or 9 and had NO idea who she was at the time, but she was very nice.
I'm also related to a relative celebrity. My cousin twice-removed (if that makes sense) is Norman Lloyd. He used to star on the soap St. Elsewhere and played the college dean in Dead Poet's Society.

Dont know if family counts... and I am not sure if you would call him famous (yet-but maybe someday!
) my cousin Eric is the lead singer for the rock group ShadowWax.

People in and around Tennessee may be familiar with them.

I believe the release date for their CD is the 8-2.

Then you probably don't want to know that I have access to his proven authentic signature as he signed our claim form... much less his photo ID. Not that I'd do anything with it... I'd be fired! Since we're a State agency and it IS a Florida license, we also have access to his driving record but as a *professional* I won't even look
. I'll look Monday to see if I can find the other claims, but
you'll have to remind me of their names.

Oh yeah, I was entirely suprised we didn't get a call from a rep wanting to know why the $*&# we wanted his license... but they sent it without complaint, which is a lot more than I can say for a lot of the general public!

Where in TN? A friend of mine is the founder of a band originally called Big Fish, then Flipside Runner, and now Pimpin' Ain't Easy. They were making a big splash as Flipside Runner in that area... but they "grew up" in a manner of speaking so they moved on.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dead Poet's. I think it's a classic, he should be so proud to have been in it! I don't care if he played a relatively small role... maybe you could get him to autograph a copy for me? LOL... and buy it, too, since I recently sold my VHS at a yard sale thinking I'd FOR SURE buy the DVD but haven't yet. I made sure to watch it before the sale though... I knew it'd be a while before I remembered to get it again!
