It was sitting nicely on the plant on top of the fridge/freezer in the kitchen
Lucky I found it before Guin did otherwise it would be

Oh, then when I put it on my hand it was all sticky and wouldn't jump off. I tried to put it on the window sill outside but it just kept on sticking to my hand!

Is it a grasshopper?

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww. I don't know what that is but I can tell you that bugs that look like leaves, sticks, or anything else in nature freak me out more than anything (except roaches)!! I have this fear that I won't realize that "leaf" is a bug and will touch it and just UGH. You're brave.

They were open but the blinds have been closed so I think he might have been there since yesterday cos he felt all sticky. He's still on the window sll outside now and has not hopped off or anything. Maybe he's dying?

Actually, I think it is a grasshopper! I just went outside and found it on the concrete - all limbs intact and okay. It then hopped onto my leg! It must love me

Then, I set it free into the bushes cos Guin had come running out of knowhere to investigate!
In this pic, you can see that he is the same colour as the leaves and stuff, what a lovely, vivid green!

It's some species of katydid.
We had a some windy nights last week, and a European Praying Mantis nymph (introduced species) ended up on my patio.

The back yard isn't at all bug friendly, so I've got him in a bug container and have been feeding him until his wings come in.
Once he can fly, I'll set him loose so he can go mate.

He's bugged off now. I just went outside to have a look and he's gone...

Reading some of the replies that he's cute, well I actually agree with you!
