At the begining of the summer I planted the small salad cucumbers. Well, when I went out today to get the first few that have grown I found this:

Its all skinny at one end and HUGE and bulbous at the other!!!

Just thought I'd share

Come on over and pick in a couple of weeks for some insane reason I planted 4 plants and I don't really like them. DH worked at a pickle processing plant in high school the stories he could tell-he will NEVER EAT THEM!!

I was actually a little nervous about opening this thread.
My mind plays terrible tricks on me when I see certain sentences or words.

I sighed in relief after I opened it and saw the picture - then ....... I couldn't stop laughing!

Yup
! I know I got some snide remarks from the husband figure when he saw this thread! I remember I used to plant scads of pickling cucumbers, but for some reason never had any luck with them. The salad cukes however, made up for my lack of success with those.

I've been getting 'maters for about a week now. I only planted 4 plants, beefsteak, and I think that was just the right number. I go out and pick one to go on my lunchtime sandwich every day and the remainder goes on an afternoon snack sandwich by itself. Ummmmm! I love, love, love, 'mater sammiches!

I'm not sure what is funnier - the thread title or the picture of your cucumber.
