Well my day is almost over. I've stood up and sat down a whole lot. My boss had a family emergency so it's been an odd week. But my student's are gone for the day!
And I'm currently working on an Ethics and Sexual Harrasment presentation for tomorrow's Job Seeking Skills Class since my boss won't be here. I have my PowerPoint ready but I'm trying to come up with ways to make it more interesting....if possible! Can't wait to get home and snuggle a kitty or 2 in my lap!

A glass or two sounds good right about now!

I have spent the day (other than TCS time) out in the yard weeding and trimming. I still have a bit to do, but I am still sore from doing it yesterday and I keep getting bitten by God only knows what. Something was also under my deck hissing at me and I looked and saw nothing. I'm done with the gardening for today!

I am going to leave soon to go to the vegetable stand down the street to pick up some stuff for dinner. I am thinking corn on the cob and maybe a salad to have with the leftover chicken.

After dinner my husband and I will go to my friend's house and water all of her indoor and outdoor plants and get the mail. She is in Florida on vacation.

That's it, another exciting day in the life of Karen

I really like this thread! I never really get to share my day anyone.

It's been okay. I am still trying to get my energy back from this cold or virus or whatever I have had, and its been pretty tough. I came into work an hour later and laid in bed an hour longer and listened to the thunder outside, while I tried to convince jinx, my 5 month old kitten that biting my elbow was not nice. No, he didn't care. Merlin did his famous pet me dance, and then I did, and he looked at me with a I-cant-believe-you-did-that look, and preceded to angry bathe. Little Miss and Haylee Marie were racing through the house, and Smudge was glued to Bjourne (my siberian husky) on the couch. So, after I left my morning zoo, I headed into work. Woo-hoo. And the same issues awaited me here as always. Ever feel like you are just being tied down? Yeah, thats how feel now in my life. I guess its a funk that will have to pass.
I am positively over the feeling of 105 degree heat here! Its awful. And then there are storms raging in the area, and then flying out, and then its hot and sticky, and then it starts all over again.
I almost hit a goat this morning on my way to work. A GOAT. He had horns, and had this look like, if I didnt go around him, he would ram my explorer.
So, its been a weird day. Kind of like in a fog day.

Oh yea, I know the angry bath! It is often accompanied by the "How dare you soil me" look!

Well I hope the rest of your day goes better and you don't hit a goat on the way home!

I have had another boring day at work. It's cool here, but humid (as always in St. Louis.) The kitties were all over me this morning till I gave them a treat. The sun is finally starting to peek out from behind the clouds, we've been getting residual rain from Dennis. At least I haven't had to water the flowers and our grass might actually come back from the dead. CSI is on twice tonight on Spike tv so we (hubby and I) will be watching that. And then off to bed so that I can start another day of monotonous boredom tomorrow. Sorry if my day depressed anyone. Man I wish I could have a beer.

Vacation Day 8. Lazy morning, some of it with kitties pinning down legs. Brunch, assorted errands, and by the time we got home it was heating up some, so I was quite happy to retreat to the basement and hit the computer. In not very many more minutes, I think I'll head for the back lawn with a beer -- the Stellas we picked up on the way home should be cold now.

Today has been quite relaxed actually! Started the day by saying goodbye to my roommate until next Tuesday (she's staying at her parents most of the summer, at our apartment about 2 days a week) and welcoming Brendan over for a visit! He and I then suited and lathered up and made out way out to the pool! The water was PERFECT and we swam and tanned for about an hour. After that we headed over to UCF so I could talk to a professor providing me with a letter of recommendation for grad school, went to the bank, and grabbed some lunch.

During that time I also managed to get my complex to provide us with a new carpet in the living room to be installed on Monday at no cost to us, and a $10 reduction in our rent for next year! SCORE!

Brendan and I were going to take a spin class, but the normal instructor was out and the one we can't stand was subbing so we left the moment we saw her. Instead of spinning we headed to the mall and I took care of birthday gifts for my sister-in-law and roommate. Since then we've had a nice breakfast-dinner of french toast and I've learned information to win soundcheck party passes for a concert I'm going to on the 23rd (keep your fingers crossed for me)!!!!

Pretty decent day I would say.

By the way Hissy what does it mean when you say a horse is foundering?
Founder is difficult to describe, because there really isn't much known about it, or how to cure it. The laminitis hits the coffin bone- this is the name of the main bone in the horse's front foot- Whatever is going wrong inside the horse, results in a weakening of the laminae against the hoof wall, and the bone pulls away. The bone can either rotate so many degrees, or in extreme cases it can slide out right underneath the horse's bottom of his hoof, and the only thing you can do then is euthanize the horse, as the pain is incredible and there is no recovery. Racer has 3 degrees of rotation in his coffin bone right now, which is relatively mild (thank God) The horse is "ouchy" unwilling to walk on the front feet, putting all weight on the back feet, or rocking back and forth to take some of the pain off him- much like a cat will do immediately after a declawing procedure, they sit up in the cage like rabbits, crying pitifully and unwilling to put their weight on their front feet because they hurt so badly-

Here is a picture of Racer in a founder stance- See how his back legs are bowed to take pressure off his front legs? His legs are hot to the touch and has a pounding pulse- soon after founder hits, the abscesses start appearing out the bottom of his foot or the sides of his hooves- so the creek soaks followed by the hot treatments help bring those abscesses out safely instead of waiting for them to explode-
It goes a little bit beyond a horse stumbling and going lame, because quite literally they don't want to, or can't walk-

Today I started my very first quilting project!! I'm piecing a baby quilt from flannel fat-quarters, using a beginner's pattern and a lot of assistance from my "other" mom at her quilting shop. I'm really getting excited to see how this turns out!!!

Aw poor Racer.
Thanks for showing us that picture MA, it helps me understand and now it all makes sense. Well as much sense as it can make since no one understands that much about it! Good luck to the both of you!

I actually had a good day. I went jogging with an old friend of mine who I hadn't seen in quite a while. Then I went out to dinner with some people from work. A drug company that we buy from footed the bill -- Which was $950!!!! I had lobster tails with crab meat and too many drinks too count. lol

But now I must go back to work tomorrow and I really don't want to
.. my boss is really mad at us.. she didn't even show up to the dinner. Please wish me luck... lol I will most certainly need it!!!

Well now I can share considering my day is pretty much over.

Thursday 14th July 2005 6:30PM

Not a very busy day today. Slept in until nine and then potted around on TCS for about an hour. Had a shower and did the litter trays, fed the cats etc. Nana picked me up at 12:30 and we went back to her house and bathed her cat(my ex cat) Sapan and I bathed her kitten Dynamite. I took pictures, too.

Got up at 5pm and have been cleaning up in the lounge and potting around on TCS. Just had dinner - it was disgusting.

I hope you all had a nice day.

My day was a hell of a lot better, I suffered most of the day yesterday with a hormonal migraine which took most of yesterday to get over, but thanks to ibuprofin iam saved, Osiris is making strides in becomeing a housebroken kitty, minus shredding my bare leg. ANYBODY NEED A BLOOD TRANSFUSION
I am slowly working with him to teach him to be a retrieving kitty which i know he will learn very quickly, and as soon as i can get a digital camera you guys will have some pics
