Not sure if anyone wanted to keep up with the DT idea, btw, *anyone* can start a thread for the new day, not just me...

Okay, my day. Stuck at work and of course my co-worker is taking a half day so I get to do his job too.
Tomorrow is my 'weekend' tho so I plan on relaxing, ah! And trying to stay cool, this heat is ridiculous!

Nothing much is going on... I'm sure you heard that the shuttle launch was scrubbed (which, I might add, I predicted right before they made the announcement)... Baylee and Max are in the upstairs bedroom b/c we need the maintenance men to come in and fix our dishwasher and kitchen light... wish they would hurry up and do it! They are not happy about being stuck there, btw, they are making their protests known loudly!

Oh and thanks to Sar, I was updating my cell phone to add ICE #s.
Very clever idea.

Anyone else?

been out with the horse in the creek and just hanging out in the pasture. Cut away most of the blackberry bushes that were obstructing the flow of the electric fence. The sky is at times pitch black and the wind is picking up so there is storm either passing or brewing. The kittens have been in and out of the enclosure and right now I am helping Anne with her new website-
http://www.submit-pros.com/ I swear, this woman is full of ideas!

Now it's back to my latest assignment providing content for a website all about wine. Perhaps I should just tell my client that he should imbibe in a few glasses while reading my articles and then he will really love my work!

My cold is starting to abate, even though my coughs scare people...

Weather? Still cloudy from Dennis, but we need the rain and the respite from the heat! Was only in the mid 70s yesterday and we turned the Air conditioner off.

Tomorrow Ari goes for his neuter. I hope he goes through okay.

I am also suffering from the "pimple from heck". It is about an inch across and hurts! It drained some this morning, but is still quite obvious.
No, no pics because I don't want to upset all the delicate tummies out there!

Well its dry and 88 outside but not too humid. After work I have to pick the raspberries and then figure out what to do with them but just stick in :censor::censor::censor::censor: for tonite. Perhaps make some jars of raspberyy sauce (seedless) I have enought raspberry jam from last yr. Then Hosta Society has a garden visit tonite. My friend whose garden we are visiting I think she probably now has over 700 varieties!! She said she has lots of weeds and crispy plants. Then when we get home I picked cherries on Sun morn and they are still unpitted in the freezer. Better pit them tonite. Not too busy at owrk again so just hanging on until 5.

I had an easy day at work. There's a construction site half a block down from our school, and they had heavy equipment going all day, so most of the teachers just threw out their lesson plans and did "fun stuff" (2 1/2 weeks till summer vacation!). I had three lessons with one class, and we closed the windows and shutters and watched "Witness" with Harrison Ford, with subtitles. Since it came out before most of these kids were born, nobody had seen it, and they loved it. They were amazed to see Viggo Mortenson (sp?) so young. Most of them are LOTR fans. They didn't understand all the English, so I stopped the tape a couple of times to give a summary in German. Other classes "wasted" time discussing why some breeds of dog drool more than others, why people used to have their dogs' ears cropped and tails docked (now illegal here), why cats are prone to UTIs and bring mice home, poisonous snakes, spiders, and lizards, that praying mantises bite, and aren't native to Germany, why cars are impossible to repair yourself nowadays, what their dream cars are.... I spent half the day writing English words on the board, and I bet they'll remember a lot of them, because they had a day without regular school work, and weren't being "forced" to learn.

Howard, I can sympathize - I have three fingers in splints, because my niece accidentally slammed the front door on my right hand, and fractured them. Typing isn't too easy at the moment.
When a horse founders, it stumbles, or goes lame.

How did you deal with the scene where she has her shirt off? I remember when I did summer school movies were always rough that way, what to show etc. Even Disney films woud throw in something inappropriate and we would hear about it later!

They have full frontal nudity on German TV, and think nothing of showing what many Americans would consider "porn" during prime time, so I honestly didn't give that scene a thought. Violence or gore is a different matter.

Oh, it does. My tape is from the UK, and says "Suitable only for persons 15 years and over", but that's probably because of the violence, not the bare breasts.

Of course being Americans, it's ok for the blowing up stuff, not the bare breasts. I don't recall the violence ever being an issue.

I'm so done with being hot! I know what we consider hot isn't close to what others go through, but we're not used to having these temps for this long here. Everyone is irritable. The people on the phones are pushy and impatient, and we won't even talk about how people are driving.

I cannot, no matter how hard I try, get motivated today. I've been at work since 8am, and I don't think I've gotten one real thing done. I blame it on lack of sleep.

I can't take the heat much more either. It's making everyone slow and cranky. I drink water constantly.

I've been in back-to-back-to-back-to-back meetings and teleconferences and putting together material requests so that I can start a resource lending program for clients. The fun never ends!

I need a BEER!!!
