Hi! I am from South Dakota and just found this site --and just love it!! I have 2 indoor cats---Sylvester - 8 months old --a tuxedo kitten and Suki age 17 Seal point siamese --and rules the roost.
We live on a farm and have 2 outdoor cats also--Patches ---calico---grandmother of Sylvester and Puddy Kat --also calico and Sylvester's Aunt.
Sylvester came to us as his mother was given to our neighbor and he was a single kitten in a late October litter---my other cat named "kitten" had been run over and my neighbors knew I was looking for a kitten out of my own bloodline as Patches (his grandmother) had been fixed after her last litter.....and the neighbors lab had decided to terroize the poor kitten--so at 4 weeks old he came to live at our house. He looks like the cartoon character Sylvester and is a sweetie--
Suki is a purebred siamese that has adored us for years and kept us all in line--she claims my 16 year old as her own kid....in fact when he was little and cried--the cat would always beat me to him, and insist on licking him if he was crying--same went for if the covers were off when I checked him in the night she would growl and wouldn't want anyone to touch him. She has a special place of honor and esteem in the household.
Patches is the grandmother and also mother of Puddy Kat. She is a beautiful calico that loves to hunt for mice and loves to be petted and talked to --and yes she sneaks in the house whenever possible.
Puddy Kat is a very special kitten that Patches had in her last litter and ended up being given mouth to mouth by the vet when born.....she was tiny but a fighter....and loves to be petted also. She has radial nerve damage to her shoulder which the vet wanted to amputate her paw --but I used my NikKen magnets and she is now walking quite well on her arm....loves all the attention she can get.
This forum is wonderful Thanks for all the help on Sylvester so far--he is pulling out his hair--the vet feels he has separation anxiety --since being ill from frontline for cats...
Take care!! SDBlondie, Suki, Patches, Puddy Kat & Sylvester! THE SOUTH DAKOTA CREW!!
