How do I get this deworming treatment in their mouths?

Should I try to get them to fall asleep on my lap and then squirt it in when they're kinda out of it? I'm worried they might choke, but I can't see that I"ll get it in there any other way!

I seem to recall reading something about stroking their throats? Will that get them to open their mouths?

Do they like seafood? I usually mix the liquid worming medicine in with some water-packed tuna, salmon, shrimp, or calamari, and the strong taste and smell seem to "cover up" the medicine. Our last cat used to like fried liver, so when worming time rolled around, he was allowed his favorite treat. I chopped it into small pieces and just stirred in the medicine.

If not, try wrapping each cat in a big towel to keep her/him still (it helps to have another person assisting), and slowly squirt the medicine in from the side of the mouth.

Ok after posting that I remembered reading about the towel trick...worked like a charm. Wrap em all up, squirt it in when they open their mouths to squeal.

Yeah.. worming medicine is so disgusting tasting that I doubt you would be able to mix it all with food..... the best way is to have to people. one person takes cat in towel (wrapped FIRMLY I might add) other person puts fingers on corner of the jaw while first person holds cat firmly.. when the cat opens its mouth try to squirt it all in..

thats what I had to do for elliot.. the first day he didnt suspect anything.. but the second and third day it was hard... he started foaming it up and almost puked... I know its got to taste really bad because it smells disgusting.. not only that but it clings to the inside of their mouths.. bleck.. like really thick milk or something..

I do that too when I have to do anything nasty to Dax - Like when she was having her ear mite drops. I cant help but be reminded of the British James Herriot books - The young vet in the series, Tristan, was renownd for his cat wrapping abilities...

I dun know about the liquid, but when I had to give Lucy medication (pills), I would stuff one in her mouth, then lick my finger and wet her nose. It sounds odd, but in order for her to lick her nose, she had to swallow first.
