Thanks for the update MA.
A question...how are the kitten's lungs doing? Have they cleared up? I am going to miss reading about your sweet babies when they go to their permanent homes.
Actually my best subsititute mom was my male cat Kahuna. He would always go and lie with the new kittens and let them crawl all over him, no matter what. He would stimulate them and growl at them when they sucked on him in the inappropriate place! God I miss that beautiful boy!

Mike told me yesterday we should keep all the kittens! LOL I highly doubt it, that would put us at 14 cats! Even with the outside enclosure that is to many! I am leaning towards keeping two or three though- Scuba- Matuese and Oliver- these are the three that consisitently worry me because from time to time they just seem to not be doing well- then they rebound. It all hinges on who answers my ad and what they are like and what type of home they will be able to provide for these kittens.

MA...I am thrilled that you might keep some of the kitties.

Of course I have fallen in love with Oliver. He is such a fighter. How are Matuse's eyes today? What are the reasons you might choose Scuba? I have been so focused on the kitties that were the sickest, I did not get to know Scuba very well.
I am sorry that I missed knowing Kahuna. Isn't it unusual for a boy to be so nurturing? Sometime, I would love to hear more about him. Do you have a picture of him you that could share? It sounds like he was a very special boy.

I am still praying that the babies continue to grow strong & healthy but now I am also praying that, if you can't keep all of them...at least some of the sweet babies will stay with you for the rest of their lives.

I can't think of a better home for him Ash! I am thrilled that you would make the trip all the way down here to get him, and I will start getting him used to being in the carrier and going on rides, so that he won't be neurotic when you do get him home. I will let you know as soon as he is ready to be released, as I told you on the phone, if he is blind, it may take a bit longer for him to be litter pan trained. But again, it could just be that his eyes are slower to develop than the others and as he grows he may not have any eyesight problems at all. He is so young right now, it is hard to tell-

And no matter either way!

He will be loved and cared for blind or seeing and I will make sure to read up on blind babies just in case.

Thank you MA for letting me have the oportunity to love and care for this little boy

The reason I am leaning towards Scuba is because she is black and black cats around here are not easily adopted and do fall into harm.

I lost Kahuna last year to songbird fever (aka salmonella) One of our older members who no longer shows up here much , put this tribute together for me to honor him. Kahuna was indeed a special cat and I miss his assistance with these newborns-

Glad to hear that the kittens are getting bigger and stronger everyday and that Ash is adopting Massey. Also great that you and Mike are going to be keeping some of them as well. I think if I were in your place I would have a real hard time letting ANY of those precious babys go. Kudo's to you MA, your loving care and kindness has saved these kittens and now they will live and have wonderful lives. Hugs to you, protectoress of tiny kittens! :-)

Hey, Ash!! What nice news! Lovely that wee Massey will be staying in the family, even when he leaves MA!

And of course, great that these little tykes are hanging in there and getting stronger. How very fortunate they are that they dropped into your lap, MA!!

I'm so happy that Ash is getting one!!! How awesome of her to make the long trip there! It will be well worth it, though.

MA, thank you for sharing the link to the Kahuna tribute. wow!!! That made me cry---he was such an angel. You could tell by the photos how special he was and how all the other kitties were so attracted to him. What a special cat he was!

My ad is running, think good thoughts, woman just called and wants two kittens. Her 14 year old cat recently died of natural causes. She is on her way to look at the kittens (not Massey) and to be "interviewed" LOL
