Hi everyone!
Just wanted to introduce myself.
I'm Rysa, mom to two humans and three pets. I am a wife and teacher and scrapbooker and drama coach.
My kitties are Midnight and Tessa. Midnight is three, and tiny. Even the vet calls her the "petite little girl". She turned up on our doorstep as a tiny kitten found by some college students. It was nearly midnight on New Year's Eve, and they couldn't keep her until the shelters opened, so they asked us to take her to the SPCA since they saw our cat in the window. She never actually made it to the shelter, lol. She loves my daughter beyond all reason, but only puts up with the rest of us, lol. Unless we're playing with dangling cat toys - then she adores us.
Tessa is our new kitty, but sadly, despite the assurances of the rescue that she had tested NEGATIVE to FeLV, she tested leukemia positive at our vet. We're still going to keep her, we just have to isolate her from Midnight. She is sweet and affectionate, and purrs louder than any cat I've ever heard. She's just 6 months old, recently spayed. We're hoping she shakes the infection and becomes one of the immune lucky ones.
We also have a yellow Lab rescued from a shelter named Honey, and we recently lost our first cat, Dot, to a herniated stomach.
You should be able to see them all in my sig, if I set it up right.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
