It's funny, but I totally got picked on when I was young, but I was SO OBLIVIOUS that I never noticed it. I look back at what kids you to say to me and realize that they were trying to hurt my feelings. Ala "You know Punky Brewster is out of style, right?" my answer would be "Yeah?" Usually because I didn't really care what they said or thought.

I'm pretty sure when I was younger, elementry school, I picked on one or two kids. In my defense I think I thought I was teasing, but looking back I may have hurt someones feelings. (I never chased people down or hit them or anything, I was the one of the smallest in my class).

Some of the replies are funny if you pretend it is about noses.

I was the picker in high school. I really regret my behavior now but I can't take it back unfortunately.

I was both. Mostly when I was little, I was the pickee, but when I was pushed hard enough to fight, I usually won. Then I got older & taller & more rowdy & for the most part was left alone. Sometimes I picked, but had my circle of freinds & didn't really bother anyone.

In middle school, I was the pickee-smart, shy and involved in an unpopular sport (swimming). There were several times in elementary school I was the picker, when kids went after my baby brother and I stood up for him-funny to think he's over 6 feet now!

Yep, both of us having been "pickees" we know how serious this thread is, but yeah, the nose thing is still funny. I was picked on a lot and didn't appreciate it. I think it's disgusting behavior to pick on other people.

pickee, this guy in school who used to throw up for attention and that lived down the street from me, used to ride home after me every day and knock me off my bike whenever I went down the shortcut lane, thank god my parents saw him and stopped that. Plus I was the ALWAYS the chubbiest and shortest person in my classes, so yeah...

Mainly I didn't pick on anyone because I didn't (and still don't) believe in making enemies unnecessarily. On occasion guys tried to pick on me but I started strenght training (which I'm still doing today). If someone crossed a certain fine line I beat the living hell out of him. I had to do this a few times until my reputation as a guy one shouldn't mess around with was known by everybody.

C U later

Really? Swimming was unpopular where you were from? Interesting how different these things are by region! In Daytona Beach/Ormond Beach swimming was a VERY cool thing to do!

I wasn't really either. I think the only times I ever got picked on were a few times in middle school, but that was really it. In high school I was a Sunsation (the dance team) and no one picks on Sunsations (though I hear it's different now). That's not to say I didn't put some boys in their places when they deserved it, but I never initiated anything.

Ex: I overhear this kid Forrest saying, "Yeah well Katherine is a lesbian anyway...." So I walk up and say, "Oh excuse me Forrest, but let's keep in mind that NOT wanting to date you and your skeezy friends does not make someone a lesbian. It just means they're not BLIND." Idiot.

I was on the rude end of many a fat joke or comment. But being the tallest until 5th grade, there were no physical attacks.

I was always the pickee in school. I was always, always the teacher's pet, and the "tattle tale," so I was called for telling the TRUTH when asked a question, and the "geek." But, I did what I felt right, and comfortable, and I had no problem with it.
