Yeah, me too, although I'm like you, the hats in the posh shops don't go with my manky clothes! I am a bit of a hat fan, and have lots of fleecy ones for cold days, and straw/cotton ones (with BIG brims) for sunny days. As you may guess, I often have hat hair, BUT I DON'T CARE!!!

Sue

Yes, I did watch the royal wedding, if only to see the outfits and the hats. There were a lot of feathers weren't there?

Yay! We can be manky together with our ordinary hats!

I think there were loads of feathers due to the whole Sienna Miller/Boho phase thing that's creeping in!

Here are my daughter and I in our hats at my nephew's wedding a couple of years ago. Don't we look silly? ANd we bought the hats completely separately!

No Jen, you don't look silly at all. You both look very European!

I watched a little of the wedding coverage, and I thought everyone looked so wonderful in their hats. I love hats, big fancy ones with flowers, feathers, lace, anything you can imagine to decorate them with. Unfortunately, I do not look good in any kind of hat,
so I just get to admire everyone else's.
When I get old enough, I will join the Red Hat Society, so I can wear silly red and purple hats and have fun with the old ladies that still know how, and not worry about how they look. In 9 years I can join their "junior" members and wear pink and lavender hats.

I adore hats. I kept hoping that maybe someday they would come back in fashion as they were in the 40s.

C'mon - I wanna see pictures of your hats ladies! Take a pic for us!

I coudn't wait for the to come back into fashion any more, so I just wear them anyway. I don't have any fancy hats - mine are everyday kinds of hats. I'll post piccies if I can find them

I can get a proper picture of mine but you'll have to wait a week until i get it developed

EDIT: Scrap that idea!, the hat box is right at the top of the wardrobe all the way to the back.

Wait until next year!

Her feathers weren't as bad as her daughter's. I didn't like some of the hats; for instance, Prince Andrew's daughters seemed to be hiding in their bucket-shaped hats.
It's funny - I loved hats as a teenager, but can't stand wearing them now.

I thought Camilla's headpiece was awful, but then, I did very much like the sort of blue silk with gold embroidery on her surcoat!

I loved her outfit - it seemed sort of medieval, just perfect in the elongated Gothic setting. A circlet would have been perfect with it, but she obviously had to avoid things like that.
